The allegations against Donald Trump for sexual assault seem to have a common denominator: He is physically violent and intentionally inflicts pain on his victims. He likes to slam women and girls up against doors and walls as he roughly manhandles them. Donald Trump is a sick and twisted person.

Whenever we move away from that vision, leftists get conned into helping rent-seekers get richer. “Building homes might make people rich!” That is what confiscatory top tax rates are for. “Imports could hurt US jobs!” That is why we need a jobs guarantee not just here but around the world.

My vision of socialism is based in sufficiency. Whatever mechanism we use for distributing stuff, the goal is to have enough of it for everyone.

Please don't forget @rickazzevedo.bsky.social, a BLACK GAY MAN that was elected SPECIFICALLY because he was a member of civil society that started a social media campaign on that cause, and allied with Erika to get this done! They followed the institutional steps of Paulo Paim, ANOTHER black man!!

What appears to have changed from round 1 to 2 is increased participation, given compulsory voting over 18, that likely means outsized role 16-18 year olds (who can but aren't obligated to vote) played. Did a podcast on mobilizing this cohort in 2022 election: wordstowinby-pod.com/speak-yourse...

Fully aware motivated cognition is a helluva drug but...as far as following the precepts of what I call Magnetism (if you want people to come to your cause, be attractive): 1. Engaging the base is HOW you convert the conflicted - see "Lula's Army" recruited on WhatsApp & taught what to repeat

So much to say about Brazil, not least of which is the role that Erika Hilton, a Black trans leader and most voted woman politician in Brazil, played in mobilizing folks for Lula. She was behind the critical, concrete, economic promise of shorter work-week. theprint.in/feature/erik...

theprint.inWho is Erika Hilton? Black trans politician was one of Lula’s loudest campaignersErika Hilton’s electoral triumph comes amid a hostile environment. Brazil has the highest number of reported murders of transgender people in the world, with 80 recorded in 2025.

After enough examples of ICE kidnapping and trafficking US citizens, or even camping at immigration courts to abduct immigrants who are documented and attending scheduled hearings, it's clear that "came here legally" is a lie.

#HealingHearts I removed myself from my father when I was 32-years-old and got an incredible amount of pushback. How could I do that? He's so hurt. I can't describe the pain of that second wave of betrayal from my family members. I will say this: that decision saved me. #CSASurvivor #Pinks 💛💚💜

I keep on saying: we are in the middle of a constitutional crisis: our government is going to fail at basic things in the 120th Congress unless you impeach Russell Vought on Day One.

It is ok to decide that—in the middle of constitutional crisis—that the job of social media is not persuasion, but organization and organization. It is also ok to decide that listening and persuasion does not have to involve violence and abuse. You know why trolls hide under bridges, right?

People don’t understand why I keep noting that BlueSky is not a bubble, it is a counterpublic. It serves its own organizational function: you can see in realtime in January 2025, on multiple types of social media, shouting that an executive order is instruction to an agency. This one stuck.

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

One has to absolutely meet the people where they are, but then once you have connected, help them move to a better place. The loss of people on those platform will be felt by those platforms, and the more people that move, will make it easier for other to do so.

1) Don't respond directly to trolls by clicking the "reply" button on their posts. Instead, either find a decent post by someone else to boost (and if possible add a useful picture with a chart in it) or make your own. 2) Follow certain accounts that you know will get lots of views...

The GOP has embraced "politics is war by other means", every liberal in America should act accordingly. We are in uncharted territory politically, fight back loudly and remain wary. Fetterman, Manchin, and others are cautionary tales

There's nuance here about "how do we use platforms owned by the fascists". You *have to understand the political purpose of the platforms* in order to use them to subvert authoritarians. For the most part, Americans simply do not. Centrists (including DNC consultants) do not. Major media does not.

Kim Sherrell@web.kim

Key lessons from Brazil Amplify our people. Ignore the opposition. Use the tools owned by fascists to defeat the fascists? Meet the people where they are. May need to reconsider my staunch position of boycotting Meta for the reason. Thoughts?

Bobby Pulido, running for Congress in Texas, is more than a quinceañera singer. The 53-year-old Tejano music legend is the Democratic nominee in a freshly gerrymandered swath of Texas. While the race to unseat his Republican opponent once seemed an uphill battle, polls now consider it a toss-up.

It's weird seeing AI bubbles across the world begin to collapse in real-time because AI continually needs more input to function, every time it's used its trained and becomes shittier, but nobody's writing their own code now, so it's a death spiral for everyone who needs claude to work
