bluntly this is also what destroyed LBJ and led to the nixon landslide, yes vietnam also mattered and was probably #1, but the white working class was infuriated that black folks would also benefit from the great society programs
The “something” in question was the workers themselves deciding by 1966 that they no longer wanted New Dealer welfare capitalism if it meant black Americans would benefit from it while anti-war protesters were free to burn the flag

the DOJ is basically acting as if the president’s delusions are true
“The Department of Justice is putting its formidable thumb on next week’s elections in a way that seems clearly intended to call into question the legitimacy of any result that is especially unfavorable to Republicans—before those results have even come in.” Me on DOJ’s California and Alaska suits:

When I started reviewing silent films, I had to send away overseas at great expense for discs of any foreign fare off the beaten path. Now, thanks to archives, I can stream literally thousands of rare silent films for free.

I think people need to recognize the combination of: 1.) The presidency is the most stressful job basically ever, even if you do it shit. 2.) Campaigning turns you into a zombie. 3.) He already has demenetia And realize that by end of October he's going to be operating on a plane where only he is
Trump: "I'm studying his body. I've never studied the body of a man before. It's not my thing. Nothing wrong with it, of course. But it's never been my thing. But I looked at his ass. I said, 'His ass, shit, it's like a pile of muscle.' Then I looked at his legs and I said, 'Man, his feet are big.'"

In the bedrock of my soul I know he started out thinking the press pool was a literal pool and has been seething with disappointment since he discovered the mistake
President Trump has pushed to move briefings out of the White House press room. Aides say he wants an indoor swimming pool instead. nyti.ms/4eoW3AV
