Trump wants to round up folks struggling with homelessness in DC. The 2024 PIT count reported approx 5K individuals experiencing homelessness in all of Washington, DC. 8% identified as veterans. That’s roughly 400 veterans experiencing homelessness — he’s put a target on the backs of our vets.

I have nothing to say about the Ocean Vuong kerfuffle of a while back. But I deeply respect his attention to those people who are "stuck" in their lives, especially his mother in her nail salon. His description of talk shows as bringing culture to the "uncultured" (even illiterate) is moving, apt.

I hope Vuong keeps speaking for these over-worked, under-educated folks who yearn for some beauty and truth (is it?) in their lives. I may have seen some of them on the bus from the airport yesterday, Waikiki workers sleeping in their seats.
