This is becoming a common pattern worldwide and if you're wondering it's because facism and patriarchy are twins.

Incredible gender difference in voting intention in Brazil.

Throughout the entire Fare Hike saga, Government maintained this was a decision by the NTA We now know it was the Dept of Public Expenditure & it was decided 12 months ago Government lied to to the public, the did it repeatedly, & they did it intentionally

Manchester United's players are a disgrace to the club and the game of football. A bunch of no-mark mercenaries with no professional pride or guts. #PremierLeague

Agree wholeheartedly with this assessment of the US But also standing in Dublin this is a familiar feeling *side eye east

The whole world is having to deal with the terrifying and expensive chaos caused by this country's temper tantrum, and then we have to hear them mytholigise themselves on top of it all. Just can't be fucking dealing with it.

Our street is just off the marathon route but is closed to through traffic all morning and let me tell you I need Dublin City Council to institute monthly car free Sundays between the canals. Like now please.

Film opinion hill I will die on: One Fine Day is the best 90s Rom Com and wildly underrated. Clooney and Pfeifer at their best ✅ Cosy rainy New York vibes ✅ Quaint pre internet hi jinx ✅ Classic all the way through.

This idea has not sprung forth from nowhere. I heard it from my mam and my sister years and years ago, long before you heard of such things as a social media pile-on. It’s my understanding that anyone educated in caring for others, by profession or practice, is familiar with the concept.

My mother and sister both have careers I would describe as requiring professional-grade empathy. I consider them both experts at it. Many times, I’ve seen them educate people on the importance of respecting the bodily autonomy of children, most often via the advice: do not force them to hug.

In one afternoon FF/FG ministers came down like a tonne of bricks on a rape crisis centre when they spent weeks hiding while Musk's Nazi website they use was producing CSAM. Like many of you, I really really hate these bastards.

Let's all be clear on this. Jim OC was catapulted into a senior cabinet position with almost no political record or utterance behind him outside of internal FF fluff. He has proceeded to reveal.himself to be incapable as well as malicious in office, and it is about time Fianna Fáil pulled him out.

Gary Gannon TD@garygannontd.bsky.social

It makes me deeply uncomfortable that the Minister for Justice has used his Twitter account to create an online pile on of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre. It also appears to me a dangerous precedent that this minister, and his dept. have instructed the DRCC to remove content that he disapproved of.

Sean Canney is the WORST minister involved in Transport I have ever seen. He knows nothing about his brief and seems to believe that while his office imbues him with the power of a minister for state, its not his direct responsibility for failures to curb deaths on the road. He needs to go. Now.

Sean Canney told everyone in the country today that unless you are in a car, any time you leave your house you should be wearing a hi-vis vest. Think about that - every person on the street should be wearing the same item of clothing as directed by a govt minister www.thejournal.ie/driving-phon...

Genuinely if a govt minister had come out today and said everyone should be wearing a mask because it's cold & flu season, can you IMAGINE the utter uproar. Why is encouraging people to wear a hi-vis is seen as a common sense measure?

Is it because it puts the onus to be safe on individuals and removes the responsibility from drivers to look for pedestrians? Let's go even further - is it because it places the onus for safety on individuals and removes it from the institutions of the state to ensure pedestrians safety?

Anyone in Dublin looking for a place: I know of a room in a house share in Inchicore with a lovely sounder. If you're interested please let me know and I can pass on your details to my friend who's on the lookout for housemates

Hegseth’s staff broke Eisenhower’s globe. The symbolism is too much to bear. (And of course, they ignored the TRAINED EXPERTS WHO HANDLE HISTORICAL ITEMS. Because EDUCATION? EXPERTISE? WHO NEEDS IT?….im going to get some coffee…)

"Ordinarily, moving historical items within the building is a deliberate process overseen by curators. Hegseth’s staff dispatched its own team to relocate an Eisenhower globe. They dropped it...The resulting gash appears to be several inches wide." wapo.st/3WF2YQo

I'm torn over whether I want to see Angel Reese prove everybody wrong or Gabby Williams prove everybody wrong. At the end of the day we all win because the basketball is great & there's a reason to cheer as a neutral for both teams. A first time WNBA champion will be crowned by the end of nxt week

He’s now apologised after there was backlash to him after he sat down and decided to re share making this joke he made to promote his standup. But it’s the perfect example of how no matter how ‘leftist’ a man projects himself to be, you can never ever assume that includes decency towards women

"They can start cutting people's faces up. They can stab someone. They can shoot someone." EXCLUSIVE: Our hidden cameras capture the leader of Turning Point UK organising a fake rally for a foreign government and helping arrange a murder-for-hire with loyalist paramilitaries.

The slightest glimmer in this latest fuck up from the govt is that at least SF appear (appear - still to be backed up) to have realised they have more to lose than to gain by tracking to the right on LGBTQ+ issues.

Drumcree was not just a ‘march’ it was an annual extended period of fear that threatened to destabilize the entire province and resulted in a significant number of deaths. No one should forget that the catalyst for the march being halted was the deaths of the Quinn boys in their firebombed home.
