Wisconsin is one of two states I've lived in whose insularity leads to the kind of evolutionary cultural craziness you find in animals in the Galapagos or language in isolated settlements. This is what hath been wrought in the name of sausage

Think about how little your representatives have said or done to defend their colleague Ilhan Omar. Now try to imagine how little they will do when it's our turn.

Let's go, Sam Forstag! That's how you stand up for trans people on the national stage. If congressional candidates in western Montana—one of the most competitive House races in the entire country—can stand up for trans folks in every aspect of our lives, democrats everywhere should take note.

I once received some text messages where an interior designer told her client "I'm praying for you" in the middle of a dispute and the client responded "God doesn't know your name." I think about that a lot when i read things like this.

In which Texas Republicans refer to Muslims as "infestations" and argue that "we basically have to make it so uncomfortable for them that they want to leave."

I think Im just gonna start turning the tables and telling these ppl, in the words of my evangelical youth, that they're gonna "bust hell wide open" with this shit. its the only language they understand.

I love living in a country where a politician can sign a law banning the health care I need to live and be greeted as a hero of comity and good sense

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox has emerged as a prominent voice calling on Americans to step back from the political hostility gripping the country. The Republican governor is expanding on that message in a new book. https://to.pbs.org/3VmTJnx

Is this a good time to bring up that Rod Dreher, in the middle of his personal essay about confronting the reality of his father's KKK membership, still couldn't help including a digression defending anti-miscegenation laws?

I’m a Texan trans kid who almost died because of Ken Paxton. The world should know what he’s done. This was very difficult for me to write, but given what's at stake, I cannot bear to stay silent about what I went through at Paxton's hands. He must not be rewarded for what he's done to trans kids.

Here's a better look at the Basketball Of All Genders I'll have for sale on all of my tour stops. Designed by Mattie Lubchansky. Printed by Radix Media. A dollar from each sticker will go to the Trevor Project to provide counseling and suicide prevention for LGBTQ+ youth!

Lotta people understandably excited about the start of college football but what if you replaced “excitement” with “grim anticipation of going into the morgue to identify a body”? Anyway, Heels play at noon🫡
