Seems like a good time for a new intro post. Hii (•ᴗ•)╯ I'm an artist and indie game dev. I worked on Cadence of Hyrule, Crypt of the NecroDancer + Amplified, and I made a cozy simulation game called Pixel Fireplace. Working on a new game, and looking forward to sharing more when I can! #gamedev

Hey #pixelart, the bsky compression is pretty bad lately, but if you enlarge your image *A LOT* it looks pretty okay. Here are 1x, 5x, 20x, 70x (10,780x8120)

Water tiles dusted. 👊 (+ many other revisions not pictured) Here's a peak at some of the new river & coast tiles. Had big momentum loss with an apartment-move followed by other happenings, and took some mega willpower to resume these water tiles which had been a big pain. Moving on!

👻Adventurers of the otherworldly!👻 I really do love doing mockups, especially related to anything ghastly! This is another of my favorites, a different take on Link's Awakening's graveyard.

I also recently took an interest into low-poly and pixel-to-3D animation / environment art. Here's one made with Crocotile3D and Blender for the 30th anniversary of pokemon.

Thank you all for your immense support for my animation recently. I'm back to reviving this project now, and it feels great to do so. I haven't shown much of my improvement since Iconoclasts, but not just my animation has improved immensely. Here's another Pepperbee guy: #pepperbee

Friendly reminder to be careful when you open a can of beans because the whole lid can pop off instead of peeling like normal and you may have to go to the hospital like me last night. (I'm okay. cut my finger.)

I really like "having access to an environment full of ideas you are discovering instead of inventing"

adamatomic@adamatomic.bsky.social

this is why you need to be able to work in both a narrow and focused way in terms of having access to an environment full of ideas you are discovering instead of inventing, and simultaneously refusing the kind of inhumane binding of dogma which is so often a kind of industrial byproduct anyways

The gameplay and art look great, and I love the widescreen design solution of a gbc 10:9 window for the game with UI on the sides.

Isle of Reveries releases TOMORROW on Steam and consoles! Links ⬇️ #indiegame #zelda I'll also be doing an AMA on r/NintendoSwitch this Saturday at 1PM PST!

Happy 40th birthday, Metroid! I made this in 2021 while playing Dread. I used to do lowpoly stuff a long time ago, so coming back to the 3D modeling workflow was nice after doing pixel art for so long. #Metroid #lowpoly #b3d

I love when people make their game 4:3 with fun art on the sides. See also some of @locomalito.com's games that have arcade side panels with awesome artwork and 'how to play' instructions.

#Gaurodan is out! The 2013 game has been completely redone to fit my current vision of traditional arcade game design. It's denser (more levels but less overall length), with better pacing, mechanics and a proper scoring system. Music by @gryzor87.bsky.social ♫ Info and downloads at locomalito.com

13/12: some portion of your audience simply will not buy your game if you use it! From a purely business risk, are you REALLY "making" enough productivity by adopting AI tools to offset the guaranteed revenue loss (and free marketing) from opted-out fans? My guess is, no way!

Ted Martens reposted

If someone ever needs a tangible list of reasons not to use AI, this is a great start!

Daniel Fedor@dcfedor.bsky.social

Blue Bottle Games, as a policy, does not use generative AI. It's something we've discussed as a team, weighing the pros and cons, and ultimately, we decided it was not for us. Recently, while chatting with a colleague, she mentioned it was useful hearing our reasoning. So: Sharing time! 1/12
