Is it Trump's plan to go through every amendment and systematically undermine them?

Joyce White Vance@joycewhitevance.bsky.social

The law is that “Although the WH is not required to open its doors to the news media, once it establishes press facilities for credentialed journalists, it cannot deny access based on the content of a journalist’s coverage.” That's exactly what Trump is doing. joycevance.substack.com/p/its-a-nice...

7 years ago, we learned about Bob Mueller’s conclusions. Today, there are a lot of posts on social media claiming it was a farce, or worse, a fraud. But those posts are disinformation. Here is the actual information, with links for those who want to do a deep dive. open.substack.com/pub/joycevan...

HORRIFIC: the Trump admin is reportedly planning to dump hundreds of parents and children arrested in the interior (including Minneapolis) into extraordinarily dangerous Mexican border towns, and make them run a gauntlet of kidnappers if they want kangaroo court hearings.

I know people on Bsky know this but I hope it filters out: The feds are OCCUPYING the Twin Cities. This is a blockade, a siege. They are shutting down economic and civic activity. They are conducting "papers please" stops. They are criminalizing being a bystander/witness. You could be next.

With Trump going full authoritarian on Venezuela-Greenland, ICE, and the Fed, the response has to be serious. Four Republican senators (Tillis, McConnell, Murkowski, Collins?) could announce they’ll caucus for now with the Dems to give them control of the Senate to check Trump.

The Trump administration’s brazen military assault risks causing a new human rights disaster for Venezuelans. The US appears poised to actively encourage Venezuela to maintain Nicolás Maduro’s repressive apparatus as long as it furthers US interests.

Hard to see how Hegseth thinks this is a winning strategy, particularly since he had expressed similar views about not following illegal orders about a decade ago.

Captain Mark Kelly@captmarkkelly.bsky.social

Trump and Hegseth are trying to intimidate me into silence. After 25 years in the Navy, I can tell you — that's not going to work. This is about defending everyone's First Amendment rights.

It's great that reporting on the double tap has spotlighted the abject criminality of this Administration. But don't forget: Venezuela is not waging war on America or Americans, and the men killed were not combatants. The first strike was every bit as illegal as the second.

RT @davidaxelrod: "I’m having serious concerns that my order is not being followed." -U.S. District Judge Sarah Eliis, after numerous cases of wanton assaults on members of the public and media by armed, masked DHS agents during their current blitz of the Chicago area.

RT @BillKristol: ICE is provoking violence, and rhetoric coming from Trumpists about their desire for an authoritarian strongman is alarming. But some governors and judges are trying to defend the republic. And Dems should consider broadening their aims in the shutdown.
