You know how anytime something bad happens there's always people way out in advance saying "Hey. A bad thing is gonna happen. Here's exactly why." The in the eleventh hour, when its too late, you get all these think pieces about "Hey. I noticed a bad thing is happening and I think I know why." 🤬

They explained why Medusa is loyal to Dracula.... and it's really good 😭😭😭 Like, it's the kind of unnecessary backstory you often see but done well; unobtrusive, not "the point", not spotlighted with a wink a nod and a giant neon arrow screaming "DO YOU GET IT?!" I really like this game.

It's just a little bit of optional dialogue that makes you go "Oh. That makes sense" because it's really just them saying that our Medusa really is just THE Medusa and how that fits in that she'd be down to hang out with Dracula. You know. The guy who forsook the gods...

Oh my. Are they going to invoke Dracula's original name?! 😱 That's only ever been a thing in ONE game but... surely they have to acknowledge it at this point? They've set it all up. Be weird not to 😯

Anyone else going as Pumpkin Hill from Sonic Adventure 2 for Halloween this year or just me? 🎃⛰️ The costume has a treasure hunting minigame where you can move Knuckles across the “level” and the radar necklace will blink as you get closer to the hidden emerald in the pockets 💎 I love Halloween!!

I appreciate that people want a new Mass Effect, but the future where fans advocate for the work itself and not the people who make it is the one the vultures at EA want. If you'll take it however you get it, they can keep treating people who make what you love as expendable.

kotaku.comWhat Does It Even Mean To ‘Save’ Mass Effect? - KotakuThousands of fans are rallying around a campaign to save the series after BioWare's shutdown, but what does that look like?

I adore the Whip in Belmont's Curse but I really have to say I think the starting sword class might just be the strongest weapon, outside super specific moments, just because it's "dash through" whip grapple attack is CRAZY strong. Like, nothing the other weapons do matches doing a crossover lol

Just went to a retail GameStop for a piece of my son’s Halloween costume. If you’re young and wondered what the final days of Blockbuster looked like, you can get a taste of the experience right now at your local strip mall

Seeing a bit of the new Gears of War gave me a craving for a simple oldschool third person shooter. So I got Pragmata. When will we stop throwing away good game design in the name of chasing new technology? We have to learn this lesson with a different "genre comeback" every couple years 😕

...three or four other games to test and it's only Pragmata doing this, so I know there has to be some quirk of how It's set up that's exasperating it. It's very annoying. But not game breaking since you're basically always moving in a game like this.

Pragmata seems great. The only beef is that it's movement sensitivity on the left stick IS CRAZY high. I must have a touch of drift because Hugh will just walk forward on his own endlessly after you release the stick. Or he'll start jittering if you try to stand him still. But I loaded like...

Heidi Wong's Halloween costume (instagram) is as the Shimmer from the Annihilation movie, with a purse using my novel. Really clever, looks good affixed to the purse.

Them: My skyscrapers keep collapsing! Me: Oh no! Why? Them: We can't afford to keep making them taller without using cheaper building materials and cheaping out on labour. So they fall over killing everyone inside. Me: Easy. Stop making them taller. Just go back the kind of buildings you..

Although Biddy Blas was clearly the breakout memeloaf of Galactic Racer, and well deserved, we love him, I want to shoutout just the writing and acting in general. There's not really a stinker amongst them. Even the boring human has stuff going on 🤪 But yeah, they did a fantastic job creating...

...a memorable ensemble only made more impressive because, you know, its a racing game. What other racing game has memorable characters? Galactic Racer puts some RPGs to shame, with significantly less writing and focus too.

I am at Desert Bus all week long, starting tomorrow at 4pm Pacific time! I also made a Bell Beast that you can win! #DesertBusForHope

A thing I really don't mind, or care at all in fact, about Belmont's Curse being "different" from the other Igarashi helmed Castlevania is that if you want that? He's *LITERALLY* making more of those right over there. You can play one right now and it's basically just "the next one after Ecclesia"

And there's a new one coming next year. So yeah. Belmont's Curse being Belmont's Curse is dope as fuck because if you want Igavania you have those too. It's winning all the way down 😵‍💫

It's weird to me that people, on the one hand, will talk about games being to difficult to get into, that if you hand someone a modern videogame controller who doesn't keep up with games the idea of duel analog is baffling. Then the same person will turn around and be mad about a big remake of a...

...games if we refuse less complex games to exist? The answer isn't to dumb down an Elden Ring. And it's certainly not to make Ocarina of Time a 2026 finger twister. It's to have games like OoT continue to be those foundational games that bridge people between a Mario Kart and something more...
