Terrible news, chums. Head writer on Netflix's Bad Dinosaurs. Jokemonger for shows you hate. Maker of historical podcasts. Chief Sparkle Enthusiast at Sparklegoose!
All right - I've done a comedy writer and producers starter pack for everyone who's into that sort of thing. And YES, I've forgotten you, so remind me that you exist and YES I will put you on it (unless you have slighted me in some unremembered way in the last 20 years). go.bsky.app/AkQCH7U
Oh boy, as a working class person myself I can’t wait to see how Labour wants to focus on my needs. Guys? Guys? I am the type of working class you want to court right? Former factory worker and typist who started her own small business with a turnover of less than £50k per year. Right?
I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.
Currently feeling very sorry for Marissa Mayer's daughter, whose mother can't even think of three nice things about her without turning to autocomplete for help...
Exactly right. It's why the idea of "UK PLC" was so grotesque - as if a nation was just a limited company, that could be wound up, taken over, merged or dissolved, with no roots in the past and no responsibility to the future.
Politicians should look at the UK economy as a CEO would, says Lloyds Bank CEO
From a bank that hasn't investigated HBOS frauds.
No thank you. Companies enrich shareholders. Countries have entirely different purpose, governance, accountability. Must not be treated as corporations.

BBC report sanitises the overt racism: It notes that organisers warned marchers not to talk to journalists, then gives the "anti-immigration group"'s own sanitised description of itself. It does not report they chanted "England for the white man" in the streets.

This is truly pathetic from Ministers.
Labour’s claim to more than 27 new Jackdaw jobs doesn’t hold up.
The green economy is >£100bn a year and growing fast.
There is no future in fossil fuels. The Government knows this, but chooses profit for Shell over protecting our climate.
If I got swallowed by a whale it would recognize my superior posting abilities and keep me alive to utilize them.
Unrelated but we dont talk enough about krill on this app. This app unfortunately has a real anti-eating mass quantities of krill bias, and its why this app will never be mainstream.
Some people are used to being told that their ideas are good. Creative people are used to kicking the shit out of their ideas. One of these sorts of people finds the flattery-bullshit machine that is AI impressive.
piggybacking off this: the most powerful sales technique in the world, for pretty much all of human history, has been word of mouth. If you like something someone made, TELL YOUR FRIENDS. Tell everyone. Leave reviews. Repost. Talk about it. Link to it and link to the artist.
We depend on YOU.
Here's a lovely article from Skwigly where they're very nice about the Sparklegang! 'Bad Dinos' recommissioned by Netflix for second and third season - Skwigly Animation Magazine share.google/Jn3XUsDikVY7...
“No timeline for lifting Land Registry paywall as ownership remains opaque”
Ministers have publicly committed to open up data on land ownership - but the Land Registry themselves are dragging their feet.
Tag your MP: let’s finally reveal who owns England!

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads
Hi, you’re meant to be our advocacy group? This decision sucks. My books were stolen by AI companies, as were millions of books by other writers; it’s the biggest copyright theft in human history — there is no ethical AI when the technology itself is predicated on IP theft
Just saw a massive advert for TOBLERONE MEETS BISCOFF at Victoria and plunged into despair that the ourobourostic wankery of the rest of culture has even overtaken sweets. Was this a result of stopping TV adverts to children? There are no new sweets, just remixes of confectionery for parents?
Cadbury's Caramel, Andrew Lloyd Webber edition! JR Hartley on Celebrity Traitors! The GLP-1 with the real taste of Fray Bentos! Increasingly aware that this rant may have descended into "They're selling hippy wigs in Woolworths, man."
The only Fairy Liquid with the fresh scent of Stilton! New Pepperami Sam Ryder edition dropping next week! Popping Candy Smirnoff Ice! The only Lynx with added Pogs! Limited edition Norman Lamont Tamagotchi! A Jo Malone fragrance that smells of Select magazine and Marlboro Lights.

Please, junk food manufacturers, please invent something I hate. That only speaks to my children. EVEN THE MISTY TRANSGRESSIVE THING IS CHEWING TOBACCO AND THAT'S FROM THE 1890s
Oh do fuck off. Hooch and haggis, together at last! Sam Fox flavoured Monster Munch! Rolos and corporal punishment, name a more iconic duo! Dandelion & Baldrick, will that do?
4/ Fernando Vasquez, an 18-year-old citizen, was on break from work when agents chased and handcuffed him, then put him in their truck.
After realizing their mistake, the agents left the teen alone in the woods, with no way to get home.
Then they threw his ID out of the truck.

Because it MEANS something. My children are locked into a future that's slightly less-fun than their parents because every brand is telling them that. Every product is that-thing-from-the-90s-but-worse. They don't give a fuck about roasted parmesan Monster Munch. They want something that's theirs.

Make some new crisps! Don't do Wotsits Meets Red Leicester. Make some new sweets! Not Dairy Milk x A Baguette. Kids deserve their own things. Brannigans were mind-blowing. McCoys! Hooch! Quattro! Tab see-thru cola! It was the future! Now everything is retro because we're the only ones with any money
Again, randos on bluesky, if you cannot cope with a stranger you reply to not agreeing kindly and mega politely with everything you say, maybe rocking into strangers mentions isn't for you. This isn't the customer service desk at Marksies.
Had a Halloween rewatch of The Awakening last night. It's so brilliant. Everyone in it is startingly great. Everything I want in a ghost story. Will continue the Stephen Volk-fest with Ghostwatch and a couple of episodes of Afterlife this weekend...
What the streamers and VOD services have done is revolutionary. And the investment in money and talent is keeping the industry alive right now. But nobody has actually replaced what curated linear TV does. And I’m not sure they can ever do that, or should want to.
The whole menu / on demand system reveals itself to be astonishing at some things, and very poor at others.
There are loads of things a streamer should never even try to make, as the menu system will vanish it completely.
VOD needs to exist in parallel with linear TV for a healthy TV culture.
