No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

I’m on day two of repairing our bathroom ceiling to fix the peeling paint, and to replace the exhaust fan that was allowing moisture to linger in the first place. I’ve somehow been sanding for…three years, I think? I don’t know how, but it’s true.

I’m a Texan trans kid who almost died because of Ken Paxton. The world should know what he’s done. This was very difficult for me to write, but given what's at stake, I cannot bear to stay silent about what I went through at Paxton's hands. He must not be rewarded for what he's done to trans kids.

Man, remember a decade ago when every website "pivoted to video" to chase absurdly high metrics, but then it turned out that those metrics were absurd because they were literally fake? And no one ever experienced consequences for that lie that shifted a whole industry? Anyway, let's chase Threads.

So I guess either Bluesky becomes a nonprofit or we all start sharing our Threads handles on here…?

Here is a weird thing about comics right now. Do you know who is actually practically a guarantee of quality storytelling in comics at the moment? Godzilla. I kid you not. For a long time in America, the Godzilla comics were mostly okay, meant to be fun, lots of monsters fighting. 1/

There is a lot to say about the Nolan Odyssey movie. But one point that I think has not been emphasized enough is: this is a film about living in LA, as Nolan, my erstwhile British compatriot and age mate, has done for years. I gather it’s a strange place.

Trump doesn’t force people to do bad things. All he did was show people they could get away with being horrible if they really wanted to, and a lot of powerful people decided they didn’t need to pretend anymore. Especially those in influential positions who could push back but did not.

It’s kind of amazing how different the video quality of different platforms are for the World Cup. I’ve been watching the over the air broadcast on Fox, and it’s always a bummer at 720p. Even during NFL season I hate it when a game is on Fox. It’s both low resolution AND low bandwidth.

By far the best that I’ve seen is Telemundo through the Peacock app. True 4K with nice looking HDR, and a bitrate that can keep all that looking VERY good!! I suppose it’s no surprise Telemundo would come out on top. Bummer I can’t understand anything anyone says, though.

But we just got a new tv, so I figured we could do better. I heard the Fox One app had the games in 4k, but they looked like crap! Turns out it’s 4k that’s been upscaled from 1080, and the bitrate is low there as well. Everything looked so blurry and mushy.

I sprained my left thumb pretty badly the other day, and everyone was quick to point out what a relief it was that it wasn’t my dominant right hand’s thumb. While this is objectively true, it was shockingly fast realizing how much losing ‘ol lefty fucking sucked. Pants! Fucking hard to button!

Disclosure Day must, unfortunately, be added to my list of movies/tv that contain my largest media pet peeve: west-coast writers making east-coast characters say ‘The’ in front of an interstate or highway number. Nobody on this whole half of America would say ‘THE’ 27, David Koepp!!

Passing this sentence through your lips should stamp your one-way ticket to Hell.
