The numbers coming in for the BC election basically explain one thing, if you're mad at the Greens for "Vote Splitting" who you should actually be made at is the NDP for not inspiring their own voters to show up to the polls. the NDP lost 300,000 votes from last election, the Greens gained 20,000.

So, people didn't vote conservative, they just really didn't vote NDP. Yikes.

It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

Honestly very impressive that the Greens increased voter numbers by 13% in an election with historically low turnout.

For a party that called the election, they sure ran it without any ideas or passion. The Greens pounced with a delicious platform. The NDP said nothing, did nothing, and, in the end, got nothing but a historic hiding. Impressive, in a perverse way.

Meanwhile, the BC Greens... grew? In an election with startlingly poor turnout, where even the winning party lost 50K votes, yes, they overcame the depressed turnout. The BC Greens' vote total grew by around 23,000 votes. Their share of the eligible electorate also rose, from 4.8% to 5.3%.

The BC Conservatives lost about 50,000 votes compared to last election! Their share of the electorate also dropped. In 2026, 23.0% of people who could have voted chose the BC Cons. In 2024, it was 25.2%. But they lost far fewer than the BC NDP; so their share of the final turnout surged.
