OK, this is kind of fun: The Google considers CAP's Corporate Power Reset to be the top answer to the question "how can we get rid of citizens united?"

Bookmark this for every time they say “we have no problem with legal immigration, we’re just trying to stop illegal immigration.”

“Can the States Stop the Corporate Domination of Our Politics?” Excellent deep dive by James Baratta in The American Prospect on how CAP’s Corporate Power Reset is getting dark and corporate money out of America’s politics.

By the time this year’s primary season was winding down, corporations had already shelled out more than half a billion dollars in support of congressional candidates. prospect.org?p=145115

Can confirm. Just last week, I heard a person whom I believe to be a Russian asset offer $5,000 to voters if Republicans won the midterms.

Heads up: The Russian government has been targeting Americans with covert online disinformation operations seeking to undermine public confidence the midterms — using a familiar playbook in an attempt to inject chaos into the voting season, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter.

Clear the room. No other journalistic outlet should set foot in the White House until this is reversed. Appeasement, and I use that word carefully, will not deter Trump.

Trump: "I am proud to announce that, effective immediately, I am banning Fake News CNN, MSNOW, and Politico ... from the White House as a result of their constant 'reporting' FAKE NEWS!"

If I were still in the wh press pool, it would be such a no brainer (tho it’s not like I ever was granted decision making power): no one go until this is lifted and if you do, you are no longer a member of the WHCA

President Donald Trump, in a clear violation of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, says he is banning MSNOW, CNN and Politico from the White House.

One year ago, the Corporate Power Reset, CAP's novel legal strategy to undo Citizens United, was just an idea. Today, it's the law in Hawaii, likely to pass in Montana this November, and poised to move forward in 30+ other states next year.

OK, so, if I'm following the President's logic carefully, The Presidents Bush did a terrific job in nominating Supreme Court justices (Alito & Thomas) while he, Donald J. Trump, has done a shitty, shitty, shockingly bad job, so bad that his incompetence is endangering our country.

Me in the ABA’s Human Rights magazine: "Every state has always held the power to keep corporations out of its politics. Hawaii and Montana are the first in a century to use it, but they're likely not the last."

americanbar.orgCorporations: Creatures of the StateStates can use long-dormant corporate charter powers to strip corporations of the authority to spend money in elections, offering a state-level path around Citizens United to curb corporate and dark-m...

Not sure what the top choice is here. Is "fine" the passive-aggressive "fine" ("How are you doing?" she asked. "Fine," I snapped) or the superlative "fine" ("Amy is fiiiiine")?

This is the kind of thing I’m going to hold onto for a long time. I will use it to remind anyone who supports Trump now or admires him in the future just how little Trump thinks of our great country.

I don’t know when the "Nights Are Forever" movie will get going, but Ryan Gosling and, presumably, Captain Kangaroo’s grandson will be perfect.

This MO Sup Ct opinion is a big deal. Completely invalidates all of the congressional primaries, undoes the mid-decade map, and puts the blame squarely (and unanimously) on SOS Hoskins. (Per state law, the parties will probably just pick the primary winners to be on the general election ballot.)

electionlawblog.org"Missouri Supreme Court puts referendum to overturn new congressional map on ballot" #ELBThe opinion is here. I might have more to say about this in the coming days, but Missouri’s Secretary of State refused to put this referendum on the ballot based on an aggressive interpretation of the...

Ugh, Apple folded. Acutely disappointing. I’ve admired Tim Cook for a long time for a lot of reasons, but he has failed this late test of leadership.

Tom Moore@thmoore.bsky.social

Don’t fold, Apple. Abetting Trump’s little hissy fit against America’s closest ally is weak. It will come back to bite you hard. Apple will be around long after this petty tyrant is gone. Act like it.
