I don’t think anyone can solve another persons problems, nor should they try. However, I’ve found that talking some things through with someone can help me come to my own insights. Also hearing other perspectives, that you trust and respect, can help you see angles you may not have considered before

Spent the last century turning all of Central America and half of South America into fascist dictatorships controlled by American corporations until they all collapsed into narcostates controlled by violent gangs led by CIA-trained psychopaths and we have the nerve to pretend *theyre* the problem.

there wouldn’t be such an “immigration problem” if america stopped destabilizing countries.

Were you wondering when the first current or former US lawmaker was going to have to flee this country for their safety and/or wind up in jail under this Nazi administration? That really terrible scenario you kept envisioning? That’s what they are doing to Representative Omar.

You're being pelted with anti-trans ads? Don't validate the frame: punch back. MAGA Republicans present a vast, target-rich environment, and Trump is doing everything in his power to shackle these people to him. Make *them* answer for *that*, follow the lead of the Dems who are doing this.

Anyone need a genuinely *nice* story for this Wednesday? "Takahashi thought the lost barrel might be adrift somewhere on the Bering Sea by now. Or, he imagined an 'Alaskan bear wearing my down jacket or like, playing my flute...'"

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

My dad lettered in 3 sports in HS, was a diver for UNC, and got us season tix to UNC football and bball. I played soccer & hoops for my jr. high; my brother played soccer through HS. We were sports nuts. We could have fallen into gambling *so* easily. But we didn't see DraftKing ads 24/7.

I know times are tough for everyone, but I’m just… really tired of how much folks talk about diversity but can’t chuck $20 a year at orgs doing good work. So many smaller mags that have been critical to SFFH have shuttered.

The evolutionary purpose of grief is saving life. Not only do we stifle its full expression by enforcing emotionally flat social conformity, we don't encourage the wielding of grief to inspire harm reduction NEARLY enough. We're meant to SAVE lives by exposing our whole heart through the tears.

we're gonna actually succsesfully translate caves of qud, at least into our first target language. We've got per-file project burndown tracking and have a big enough team on it (our biggest so far!) that it's just gonna get there 99% of people will be like "ho hum" and 1% will be like WHAT THE FUCK

Would people be interested in something like a non fiction book about my experiences in Palestinian folk religious practice and magic? It would emphatically not be a “this is how we do things” kind of book. It could be a series of essays on esoteric subjects and philosophy though.
