Yeah, this sounds about right. Not sure if Toon or Paranoia came first. In any case I don't remember a single game of either of them that didn't very quickly descend in to chaos.

So once, years ago, I was seeing this woman and it was late so we ordered some Mexican food. But the restaurant closed so the order was cancelled. Instead we choose Chinese food, and we were hungry so we put in some shameful orders.

Second, in a plane you are always subject to the weather, especially in small airplanes. With this if there is bad weather in your way, you can land, drive underneath it and then continue your journey from an airport on the other side.

Is it limited? Sure! This one carries two whole engines, so I imagine its useful load is pretty spare. But I think it shows the kind of shape a useful 'flying car' could be without requiring a whole new set of infrastructure or regulations.

I had a fess published a few years ago about how I couldn't connect with my lifelong pals cos all they wanted to do was booze and take coke. I told them how I felt, turned out they thought the same and now we climb Munro's on Sundays. Lads, talk to your pals.

I went to a Cheesecake Factory for the first time today, and I bet it was more fun before they started putting the calories on the menu.

I think this will be great. I used to work just off Oxford St, and it would have been wonderful to be able to just easily move between shops on opposite sides without having to do the Frogger thing.

Oxford Street will be pedestrianized on October 26th with permanent elements to be completed next year. Here are the first renderings.

American cities are getting left behind just like American automakers are.

Time to try and fix the TV. Hopefully this will go better than my attempt to replace the battery in my phone. Should be fine. TV manufacturers tend to use screws rather than glue.

I skipped high school to buy tickets for The Phantom Menace. The following day my Dad asked ," how was school?" I replied, " It was fine " He then threw this newspaper at me and asked , " how the fuck would you know?" He was so pleased with himself that I didn't actually get in trouble.

One of the turn signals / indicators on our car needed its light changing, so I thought it would be a good idea to answer the old question: "How many Software Engineers does it take to change a light bulb?".

The *real* question is: "How many times does the Software Engineer have to go to the auto parts store before he comes back with the correct light bulb?"

I'm just going to sleep and my wife says: "Goodnight darling - I'll see you in Valhalla" and now I'm not sure what to think

Completed this monster commission a couple weeks ago! All hand-painted, this vintage arcade cabinet is going to a good home soon. #indiegame #art #mural #gamedev

In 1999/2000 I wrote a WWI aerial combat game along with a couple of colleagues, and called 'Hunt for the Red Baron'. I've always had a soft spot for it, and I've finally got a port of it that runs in the browser; have a look here: tim.aidley.com/projects/hun... Best played with mouse and keyboard

I think 20yr old me would be pretty pleased, but (and IIRC correctly this might depend on whether it was early or late 20) very concerned that I appeared to be a godless heathen.

This is good news, but perhaps not for that particular cod, who looks distinctly unhealthly...

For the first time in over 30 years, Newfoundland and Labrador’s Northern cod stock has been deemed “healthy” by Ottawa. www.canadianaffairs.news/2026/09/05/i...

This makes me worry somebody is planning to put the Suez Canal out of commission.

I can't believe that me, a man with two hundred and seventy-one followers, has not been nominated as a most influential poster. Is there no justice in the cruel world?

I've been somewhat surprised that there is a specific AI art aesthetic (and I feel sorry for genuine artists who had that aesthetic beforehand) Why did AI illustrations settle on that thick outline, overly orange look?

Mike Bithell@mikebithell.bsky.social

Or, and this is a possible stance that I massively disagree with: they just like the aesthetic. In which case, I say fair enough, but own it and don’t be surprised if a section of the audience disagrees, vocally.

GOD Wordpress is so annoying. To do anything but the very simplest page, you need loads of plugins and it's like pulling teeth getting any of them to work together.

My cat doesn't actually sign cards to family and friends. I sign it for him because he can't actually write at all.

How did I get into server backend stuff? I used to have a simple static HTML website but some idiot hotlinked an image costing me bandwidth so I learned enough to serve his site's users Goatse and everyone else the legit image. That's how I got started with backend stuff.
