interviewer: you must have done something to deserve it job: I know what you mean, but no. I've done nothing wrong. interviewer: it really would be better to confess, you know. Isn't there something you've done? job: there's nothing to confess, though. I have been righteous.

interviewer: you're making it sound like this is God's fault. Isn't that a sin, at least? job: I'm not saying God did anything wrong, because God is perfect. But at least he owes me an explanation. God: listen,

God: I don't have to explain whales or molecular biology to you, and I don't have to explain why people suffer. You're not ready. job: AAAAAAAHHHHH the Lord Almighty is talking to me I am not emotionally prepared for this do I look okay no of course I don't why is my life like this AAAAAAAHHH

Loving the very funny replies to this, but wishing the people making them had checked their sources: God doesn't kill anyone. Satan does. (Job 1:12) Why yes, I *am* fun at parties; why do you ask?

It's been a while, but I was under the impression it was the Ha-Satan, which means "the accuser" and was a sort of like prosecuting lawyer for Heaven or something. Not like, the Devil from the Bible. Since the Christian conception of the Devil didn't exist yet.

Agreed. Satan is simply 'the accuser' - not a name. And of course Job is one of the oldest books - perhaps even the oldest book in scripture.

There is a version called the Wicked Bible, but the wickedness is in a different book. (It’s the 1631 KJV edition where the commandment in Exodus 20:14 reads “thou shalt commit adultery”.)
