Wait, they should do things legally? As defined by law and precedent? Fucking shocking turn of events. Asking Law Enforcement to follow the law. The entire GOP is a fraud.

Ron Johnson: "Why would they to remove their masks? Because they want these officers exposed, they want them afraid, they don't want to carry out their enforcement actions. They want judicial warrants, which would completely neuter ICE's ability to apprehend"

Pam Bondi just sent a letter to Minnesota officials saying ICE will leave if the state turns over its voter database to Trump. Guess what? This has never been about safety or immigration. It’s a pretext for Trump to take over elections in swing states.

This is a big part of why so many kids check out of math studies. They get told math is based on rules and law. Then this asshole gets rolling. Even a 12 year old can spot the bullshit. Disgraceful.

Johnson is a spineless, lying piece of shit.

My main observation from the last few hours of monitoring US social media is that Democrats are universally denouncing political violence and calling for calm while MAGA are escalating language and openly lusting for retribution against broad categories of people they identity as their enemies.

Also not crazy to think that one-eyed Willy isn’t nearly as brave as he likes to pretend to be and he, the entire GOP, and this tiny dictator president can all go get bent. None of them, or the guardsman and ICE bounty thugs they would send are nearly hard enough to deal with Chicago.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Crenshaw endorses Trump sending troops into Chicago: "It's not crazy to think that a little bit of extra security might be welcomed by everyone."

There may be some actual human souls left in the GOP after all…

BREAKING: The GOP-led House Budget Committee just voted to reject Trump's big budget bill — an embarrassing setback for Republicans. Five conservative hardliners joined all Democrats in voting against the bill.

Pam Biondi is a fucking asshole.

“One of the top MS-13 members”? This woman is an officer of the court and the Attorney General of the United States. She knows that she wields immense power and responsibility. Yet here she is on national TV, making baseless claims about a guy her boss wrongly sent to a gulag in El Salvador.

The majority of Americans oppose this economic nightmare, but House Republicans are using every last bit of their power to prevent Congress from doing anything to stop it. Remember this in November and vote them all out.

Sahil Kapur@sahilkapur.bsky.social

This is big: House Republicans tucked language into the budget res “rule” that bans the House from voting to terminate Trump’s emergency declaration used to impose tariffs. TL;DR lawmakers who vote for this are officially giving up their power to revoke his tariffs until October.

Just so much horseshit. It’s painfully transparent what the GOP is trying to do, but what is so terrifying is that a whole lot of this country is buying this snake oil.

Anna Bower@annabower.bsky.social

Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-Wisconsin) to CNN: Musk told members of Congress that DOGE was not involved in the firings of probationary employees. “The departments, not DOGE, just said everybody that’s not been here for a year is gone.”

The fact that this sack of monkey dung laughs at the suggestion that gun reform can make cities safer is all the evidence you need of how morally bankrupt, and owned by special interests the rank and file GOP is at this point. NONE of them stand for the people. Not one. Thank you, Mayor Wu

Ms Bondi’s other problem is that aside from being a colossal kiss-ass, she is woefully under qualified for her job.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

"The problem for Bondi is that she swims in a sea of fake online scandals where the truth is largely irrelevant. But unlike her colleagues who concoct stories about faceless liberal bureaucrats, Bondi’s lie evokes rancid conspiracies about Democratic pedophile cults." -- @lizdye.bsky.social

If the main defense of the illegal activity of DOGE is that Musk isn’t in charge, then the pumpkin-headed shit for brains loudly proclaims to a joint session he is, it gets really hard to see the line that separates his profound arrogance from his profound stupidity.

“More than a quarter of the contracts listed by DOGE were actually already paid, the Journal found, saving no money. For instance, DOGE listed $168,000 in savings for terminating a contract with HHS for an Anthony Fauci museum exhibit. It had already been fully paid.” Beyond parody.

This micro aggression IS psychological warfare and force people to resign. Trump and Musk need to explain to the American public how much time and money they have wasted on EO/DOGE non-core work related items just indulged the whims of self indulged, wannabe dictator!

Nothing sketchy here. Please drive through.

Another scoop from @peard33.bsky.social: DOGE installed Tom Krause at the Treasury Department. He's keeping his job as the CEO of a software company that has millions of dollars in federal contracts, including with the Treasury Department www.wired.com/story/krause...

The only all volunteer military in the world. Young men and women are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, and this is the abhorrent leadership they are giving.

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

It’s hard for his flying monkeys to keep spinning this as anything other than imperialism and ethnic cleaning when the man himself won’t shut up. And watch the text on the screen. Why the hell is Jordan only going to take children? Some weird Temple of Doom shit, or what???

It's often not realised that the term "Anti-Semitism" was originally coined by antisemites, who wanted to insist that they weren't opposed to *Jews*, but to "Semitism" or "Jewish ideology". It's a well-trodden fake distinction.

The UnPopulist@theunpopulist.net

When right-wing figures say they’re opposing “the trans agenda” or “trans ideology,” they're attempting to portray their efforts as targeting a *political program* when in reality they’re targeting trans people themselves, and pushing for their full exclusion from public life. @aselrod.bsky.social
