I absolutely adore the slow burn on Rom going from an idiot coward to an absolutely brilliant mechanist and improvisational engineer who just lacks self-confidence

it's wild how often you're watching dateline or whatever and the victim's coworkers say they knew something was wrong when they didn't show up on time for work, which is sooo unlike them. nobody's murdering us chronically late bitches bc they can't fucking find us

The purpose of emotions is to lead you through a “range & complexity of potential answers” without much effort. You don’t feel overwhelmed by this task if you realize it’s not a logic problem. It’s “what three words feel good & true to describe this person you love?”

“My kid is special because she is good at washing her hands, doesn’t yell, & says thank you a lot” is a better answer if it came from your own brain because it communicates what your child’s life is like at home and clues the teacher in at supports that might be needed.

If you have trouble using emotions to pick three words about what makes your kid special, that’s important for the teacher to know. It is going to affect how your kid learns, responds to feedback, & interacts with others.

If your brain doesn’t easily incorporate emotions, how does using AI help you, your kid, or the teacher? It would be better to just list the first three characteristics that occur to you, bc then at least the teacher would learn something true about you that will help them teach your kid.

This man looks a parody of a Gruff American Man. Good god what does he eat for breakfast, steak and steak? Does he enjoy a cigarette with his cigar?

Everyone who is saying "Dems in red states have to throw trans people under the bus to win" -- no. They don't. When they do that, we just start with no winning options on the table. It gives in to the fascist premise that we get to decide some groups don't get rights. THIS is what I want to see.

Kansas Dem Sen. nominee Adam Hamilton on trans rights: “I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself”

I do not want to read EVER about people who worked for ICE and are now sad about it. I won't do it. if they truly feel sorry, let them atone on their own, but I'm only reading the interviews and stories about the ones deported, the people they have disappeared, the ones harmed.

Timothy the Hippo (Hippopotamus amphibius) at the San Antonio Zoo demonstrates why he's not in the petting area using a Fall pumpkin. 🦛🎃 The bite force of a hippo is ~2000 psi, producing a force of 8100 Newtons. So why does a GRASS-EATER have jaws stronger than a polar bear, jaguar or lion's?

Google was really trying to hide its water use figures, to the degree that it got the council to try to keep its water use figures secret. The community finally got the actual numbers and found out Google was using 29 percent of the water in the community. www.wired.com/story/what-t...
