Washingtonians! We've got inside intel that hyperscalers have been having "urgent" meetings with Governor Ferguson. THIS IS NOT GOOD. He stood up to Trump as AG; make sure he knows we expect him to stand up for our communities now, and not roll over for Big Tech. Statewide moratorium now!

The powerful executives who cozied up to Trump didn't oops accidentally forget about pendulum swings. They either: 1) Like the fascism 2) Calculated it was here to stay, so going along was savvy 3) Saw no real downside, no consequences when the pendulum swung Crucial to show them 3 was a mistake

By my napkin math, total Bell Labs research expenditures from 1930-1980 were on the order of $50 billion in 2026 dollars. Funny thought experiment: Tech monopolies have spent about $1 trillion on AI development so far. How good of a chatbot could we have built for $1 trillion by just employing smart people to answer any question people might reasonably ask and collecting all the answers in a big lookup table?

I think it's foolish to assume people who support fossil fuels and oppose renewables are stupid. Many competent people invest in, work for, run, or own FF companies. Those people stand to lose money or status if the permitting bill passes and helps renewables outpace fossil fuels.
