It's really damning. The accusations are numerous and well-supported. But I was really struck by the descriptions of Trump's behavior -- the name dropping, strong-arming, and attempts to buy off silence. His gross rivalry with Epstein. It's all so familiar. It's shit he's been doing his entire life.

The Trump Reich is desperate to "prove" trans individuals are a threat and is offering $1 million for "research" to prove trans individuals are violent.

I don't know that there is a definitive line to cross that makes you say, "I live in a police state now" but when masked gunmen can routinely brutalize the public, citizen or immigrant alike, with impunity, you have reached that point.

That our "rights" are up for debate in every election is a product of the fact that politicians think the state could even conceivably enforce their plans. The only solution is to make ourselves so prickly that they cry on stage about how they'd *love* to slaughter us but it's infeasible.

It's an absolute disgrace that anything significant in our lives ever turns on an election. If your "rights" are only secured by the state, then whether you get genocided or not turns on who runs the state each electoral cycle. Freedoms are secured only insofar as we impose *costs* on the state.

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.
