Unsettling how much "the president wants to exploit this act of violence, it's not the type he actively encourages" determines the level of public attention. Political violence Trump treats as good, media mostly shrugs. Political violence he can use for his own ends, tons of media/discourse focus.

Honestly the more I think about this vile statement, the more it reminds me of the Old Left stalwarts who tried to wave away Stalin's atrocities well after they became public knowledge in the US. Feels like the same sort of moral blindness is opening up a similar rift in Jewish liberalism.
