Twitter permanently restricted me for "Inauthentic Behavior" with no further elaboration. And that was the account that was getting coverage on my blog from actual industry people. Fuck me I guess. Might as well try to move here.

This is just insanity. One of the best studios to ever do it, with a big-budget immersive sim based on a major Marvel property ALMOST FINISHED, and nobody wants to release it!? The big business side of this industry has gone completely mad.

Put Blade in the bag and nobody gets hurt! https://kotaku.com/arkane-devs-say-blade-is-nearly-finished-but-if-it-cant-find-a-buyer-soon-the-studio-will-close-2000749096

Akiba Lost having a mechsploitation route is somehow the one thing I could not have predicted about this game. They really put their all into this holy shit.

downloaded paint.net just for this. My current time is split between "playing Akiba Lost" and "thinking I could be playing Akiba Lost", so I spent an hour doodling this. Guess who my favorite character is. #AKIBALOST

Found out the Higurashi sequel manga ends with Rena, Mion, Satoko and Rika as adults all teaming up to rape the main antagonist in what is portrayed as an unquestionably justified moment played with a heavy comedic undertone. Its Ryukishi07 dawg its lit.

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

This month is turning out to be somewhat big for sound novels. This week marks the dates that Machi’s story takes place across so both the cast members and fans have been celebrating. Over twenty years ago, users on 2channel created a prototype fan-sequel which has now been re-released.

This is incredibly generous and useful. Until I started working on BLANKSWORD, I had very little idea of how a successful pitch deck would look; I knew how to build one, sure, but seeing it impress people in action is another story. The process feels like a black box sometimes

Chris Kerr@kerrblimey.bsky.social

I also want Vertical Slice to evolve beyond the confines of a traditional paper. That's why I'm launching The Repository, a growing (free) collection of pitch decks and design docs donated by generous contributors including @kitfoxgames.com, @outersloth.com, and @outerloopgames.bsky.social.

the funniest part is he asked for n64 bomberman, we booted up 64, and then he was like "oh not that one the one with the good song" so he was 100% thinking about redial (but bought 64 and 2nd attack alongside hero anyway)

I've said a lot before that it feels like a lot of us indie devs (me included!) are white belts. The focus of the indie market is on making a ton of random "novel" games, casting dice into the ether until you "make it" and then move onto other games or just retire.

Kayin@kayin.moe

And you can say "Well indie games still do this stuff!" like okay no, indie devs mostly make one, maybe two games in the same genre and then do something else. They have tons of research material, don't build the genre skills many designers in the 90s built.

Just watched Cube for the first time. Really damn good! Managed to capture a really genuine deeply uncomfortable terror of being trapped in a room with a Really Angry Violent Man. The tension got to me in a way few movies do. Idk what to say man it's a classic for a reason
