Listen, I’m not saying we’re the best progressive parents ever… but my daughter is ready to end the patriarchy (starting with me) and me son wants to kiss the homies good night (starting with me).

Me, as a labor canvass zone lead in Ohio:

Micah@rincewind.run

regardless of whether you think the polls are right, the polls are wrong in favor of republicans, the polls are wrong in favor of democrats, or you just want all of us to shut up about polls, I hope we can all agree on one thing show up and vote to put these dipshits in an electoral dumpster

what Denis is saying is that he and I picked alternate weekend home during campaign season this year.

Denis McLaughlin@mcldenisj.bsky.social

You really can tell who’s in the field and who’s home in the work group chat bc whoever’s home goes radio silent and whoever’s in the field over texts to fill that void.

It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

they should of done this a long time ago

We acknowledge that no one has the bandwidth for this, but if it helps: -It’s ‘sleight of hand’ -It’s ‘bated breath’ -It’s ‘lo and behold’ -It's 'buck naked' -It’s ‘brass tacks’ -It’s ‘free rein’ -It’s ‘toe the line'

There was a fucking hole in our planet’s *atmosphere* Like a legit, no joke, “this will unravel our entire ecosystem” hole in the world, and then we fixed it by working together across national and political lines As a species we decided, “we will survive” Let’s do that some more

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

Ohio: Are you ready to elect @poindexterforcongress so he can represent the Buckeye State in Washington? #AFTvotes @oftunion.bsky.social

Replying to @owillis.bsky.social

Change your mindset from “you should be happy because it could be worse” to “demand more because more is absolutely fucking possible.” If I’ve learned nothing from over 25 years of writing about politics, I have learned this.

I’ve come around to believing that yard signs in a personal front yard has merit—gives permission to vote for or even openly support a candidate (e.g. my mom’s Sherrod Brown sign in what was a heavily Trump-signed neighborhood). Yard signs on street medians or undeveloped corners? Not so much.

James Hell Brooks@kleinman.bsky.social

Yard signs are a constant source of debate in campaign circles - are they pointless or not? I think they actually do have some value, as at the very least they can bait your opponent into getting mad and nude and red.

US garment workers helped pioneer multi-ethnic labor unions, which united people across racial, religious, gender, linguistic, and cultural divides. Also native-born citizens and immigrants. I think about that sometimes when I see people suggest such divides are unbridgeable.

the routine, pay for play pardons are all by themselves one of the worst corruption scandals in american history!

Don Moynihan@donmoyn.bsky.social

My brain cannot process this level of corruption. She was being paid $50 million to engineer a pardon from Trump *while working at the Justice Department* as a "Special Government Employee." And it worked. He got the pardon, and she got the money. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/20/u...

Vivek Ramaswamy and Max Miller are the Ohio Republican Party. A vote for *any* of them is a vote for child abuse.

Kevin M. Kruse@kevinmkruse.bsky.social

Every Republican running for office in Ohio should be asked if they disavow the extremism of Vivek Ramaswamy

Kyle Weidleman reposted

It really needs to be emphasized that the woman Vivek is featuring in these videos fled with an accused & indicted child rapist and successfully helped him avoid trial for 20+ years.

shauna@goldengateblond.bsky.social

even by normal oppo standards this story is bonkers — basically vivek and co (and acton’s shitty mother) are accusing acton of fabricating horrific stories of child sexual abuse that are clearly documented in court records

I think he’s just doing it to own the libs, after how upset people got yesterday.

I think we need to consider the possibility he’s made a huge Polymarket bet on Acton winning the election and is actively trying to throw it

Kyle Weidleman reposted

This should be understood as being an example of the emerging moral panic in the media around kids cutting off their parents.

Elon Musk is trying to buy this Senate seat in Texas. He wants our land, he wants our water, and he wants his own personal U.S. senator. He’s trying to buy Texas. But on November 3rd, we’ll deliver a clear message to the world’s first trillionaire: Texas is not for sale.

I think I’m going to be at peak white-knuckling these last two weeks before the election. Ramaswamy’s ad using Amy Acton’s estranged mother is absolutely horrifying. The reason they are estranged is because Acton’s mother chose a man who sexually abused Acton as a child over her own daughter.

It’s a mystery of national significance why some people are going no-contact with their parents. Not me, though—I just talked to my mom (who still lives in Youngstown) last night.
