For the love of God, can the Canadian media please stop reporting Dear Leader’s optimistic pronouncements about “deals”? Who believes what he tells his base? Who believes a campaign promise that will evaporate in a week? Such a waste of time analyzing POTUS’s words. 🙄 www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

I don’t know what is happening in Saskatchewan, but I’m here for it and the NDP momentum grows!

The why is simple in Saskatchewan. The SaskParty has been in government for close to 20 yrs. They have done so by leveraging their rural con. base vs urban voters. However this base is urbanizing and relatively shrinking. In 2007 67% residents resided in urban Sask. in 2026 82% of SK. is urban.

In his acceptance speech, Lula says he will work to regulate digital platforms in Brazil. “Digital crimes must be dealt with like real-life crimes.” This comes after Meta directly interfered with the Brazilian elections, favouring Flávio Bolsonaro.

Baffled by how this debate on here spirals between "Brits must be morally punished" and "Britain will get special treatment because reasons". EU membership is a straightforward structural problem, not a moral one. If the Brits accept trade-offs they get in, if they won't they don't

Jonn Elledge@jonnelledge.bsky.social

Yes. I think there are very good reasons for Europe not to want Britain back in, and perhaps they will prevail. But many of the people who post about it On Here seems to think "the need for a morality play in which Britain is punished for its perfidy" is one of those reasons, and no, this is silly.

Lula: "We had to overcome foreign interference through digital platforms, which we will have to regulate. A crime in the digital world must be treated the same as a crime in the real world. We cannot have monstrous companies earning millions... not paying taxes... wanting to steer elections."

From Danielle Smith's address last night. At the risk of being pedantic, it seems worth noting that a) it wasn't a coalition and b) the confidence-and-supply agreement was only in place for two and a half years.

Nearly 90 years ago the failure of collective security in Europe, betrayal of Czechoslovakia in Munich, Molotov–Ribbentrop pact, Nazi terror, more than 40 years of communist dictatorship teaches us: If you don’t choose peace through strength - You will get war through weakness.
