This article is an important corrective to the claim that Federal environmental laws are holding back clean-energy development. Their empirical finding: "environmental reviews and permitting rarely delay or block utility-scale renewable energy projects." Link in next tweet.

Another thing that pisses me the fuck off is that, once vaccines came out and they knew that 99% of the world was never going to pay attention to anything about Covid ever again, they lowkey 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘥 lying?? I assume for legal reasons? Like, this has been up on the CDC's website since May of 2022??

The people organized and came out to defeat the far right in Brazil. This election is an incredible example of how grassroots democratic action can beat the oligarchs, the tech bros and the far right. I love the Swifties for Lula youth contingent.

Genuinely I don't know that it comes across to people who haven't been here to watch how almost unbelievable this was, just people taking something that looked impossible and dragging it kicking and screaming all the way to inevitability.

All the cold, cough, and flu products ads make me crazy. Take a snort of Afrin and go to your gig. Take some Alka Seltzer Plus and go on your date. Take Painquil and gather with your family. Take some flu meds and go to work. NO, TAKE A COVID TEST AND STAY YOUR ASS AT HOME! 😷

The Nova Scotia NDP scolding MLA Paul Wozney just seems like a perfect example of the "be kind" tropes we see all the time. I always say when people say "be kind" what they really mean is "be quiet." The Nova Scotia NDP want us to "be kind/quiet." Taking to the streets is not violence.

Jeebus. This is why I have no time for the provincial NDP. I 100% agreed with Paul’s commentary on the court’s decision and what it means for those determined to advance workers’ rights. The party needs to understand that polite criticism isn’t going to cut it.

What does the best conversation look like it? This! We ranged from mushroom burials to rewriting the Bible. And of course, a lot about climate action & hope – which @margaretatwood.bsky.social says is built into us. Because people in the past who didn’t have hope? They didn’t have descendants 😄

I've had this conversation so many times about bike lanes and transit. When you frame it as not having to make a payment on a second car it gets the gears turning in people's heads about what investment in those systems can mean to people who find themselves car dependent.

This is the best kind of work that Auditors-General do. Were NS to take seriously a "value for money" standard in road maintenance, it would overturn the practice of most of our two-centuries+ Data!

NS Auditor General@nsauditorgeneral.bsky.social

While NS road paving projects quickly outpace funding, those selected each year aren’t backed by evidence, AG Kim Adair says in a new audit. Adair makes 9 recommendations, all geared to making evidence-based road investment decisions: www.oag-ns.ca/audit-reports/preserving-and-restoring-paved-roads

Most of the coverage tonight has been a relitigation of Alberta’s grievances. Talking to separatists whining about Trudeau, panelists whining about Trudeau…and nobody ever really trying to introduce facts to their feelings. Pathetic.

Max Fawcett@maxfawcett.bsky.social

You don't have to do this, @cbcradiocanada.bsky.social. It's a choice. They want to defund you. They think you're a propaganda arm of an evil government. You will never win them over by showing them grace when they show absolutely none towards you.

Just read the 10 Alberta referendum questions and was blown away by how xenophobic and just plain nonsensical they are. What a ridiculous waste of taxpayers’ time and money! And all so Dani can try and keep her job.

The separatists are going to lose today’s vote. But if Alberta’s political class doesn’t stop feeding and inflaming their bottomless sense of grievance and victimhood, we’ll all end up losing in the end. #abpoli www.nationalobserver.com/2026/10/19/o...

@jessicafancymp.bsky.social Your colleagues’ response to what happened is utterly unacceptable. Please raise the matter in caucus and urge all MPs to demand press freedom at any public event in which they are involved. The Everwind deal stinks to high heaven & the public has a right to know.

Kate Beaton@katebeaton.bsky.social

This is indefensible behaviour from Everwind. The research done by this reddit poster on the issue is worth your time. The link to the thread www.reddit.com/r/halifax/co... - The Halifax Examiner is one of the last true resources we have for journalism in Nova Scotia. Disgusting.
