Not a shocking decision given its removal from the Pokemon World Championship circuit and the general state of things around the game over the last several years, still a bummer to see though. I spent hundreds of hours playing this with friends and really loved the first few years of its run.

I appreciate that people want a new Mass Effect, but the future where fans advocate for the work itself and not the people who make it is the one the vultures at EA want. If you'll take it however you get it, they can keep treating people who make what you love as expendable.

kotaku.comWhat Does It Even Mean To ‘Save’ Mass Effect? - KotakuThousands of fans are rallying around a campaign to save the series after BioWare's shutdown, but what does that look like?

BREAKING: Oklahoma City's Jalen Williams has a dislocated left ankle and fractured fibula; Cason Wallace has a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Both will undergo surgery and be sidelined for several months -- most, if not the entire season.

Mass Effect was my ultimate white whale, my all-time dream project. For the last couple years I'd been in discussion w/ BioWare & EA to take on the project & as part of that I wrote close to 20 minutes of music to explore where the franchise can go next, may as well share it!

Reminder that advertising and editorial are completely siloed from each other at ANN. I'm as disappointed as anyone else to see this on the feed.

Tim's on going lil-guy victim complex as the private owner of the company that makes the most popular video game on the market and the guy in charge of the most widely used game engine the industry has ever seen is really quite remarkable.

remember folks, next time you interview anyone at ea you should extremely be asking them about their new owners they might not answer, but as a journalist you should feel obliged to ask

This is a wild saga for me specifically because I was seeing local ads for this before SonicFox was even announced as one of the headline guests. Most of those were AI generated too, featuring Kara Edwards, best known as the VA for Goten and Videl in Dragon Ball.

I was probably a few more served ads away from reaching out to Sonic about the event myself, and then they released their statement the next day lol. Good to see some reporting on it from a few sites though.

The company behind Nexcon, Ninjitsu Entertainment, lists itself as a creator-driven platform combining original indie games, serialized manga from independent artists, and competitive tournaments." What that meant, prior to them removing things from their website, was listing more gen-AI slop.

It is all empty now, and I didn't see what "games" were featured on the site, but I've seen several images showing the AI manga that were in that section. Including some like ABYSS DRAKE, which is also featured on several other websites that have open creator submissions like MANGA Plus Creators.

Hell, there's a lot of 7/10s where I really liked a game! Just means that it's not rewiring my brain chemistry. An 8/10 is something like Silent Hill f. Great. Polished. Resonant. Maybe a couple rough edges but gripped the whole way through. A 9/10 is Signalis, where I'll be up to 6am finishing it

Hayes Madsen@solfleet.bsky.social

I feel like there will never be a moment in time when people understand that an 8/10 means a reviewer really liked a game

All I’ve seen from the market the last two years is that I hope devs just support older hardware for longer. And it doesn’t sound like that stance will change with what comes next lol

Xbox is currently leading the entire video game industry in... profiles of its CEO. Day ending in Y? Another CEO profile. Amazing. Anyways, "...the price of the Helix console has internally been projected to cost consumers between $1,200 and $1,800..." So, good luck with that.

Tentatively putting some feelers out, because I have an idea that's gonna require some legwork. Kingdom Hearts' 25th anniversary is coming up in March 2027, and I've got, what I think, is a really good idea for an anniversary piece. Appreciate any leads on outlets or places that might be interested

since California ballots are now out: prop 40 is the billionaire tax, and you should vote yes to stick it to them but both props 41 and 42 are designed to retroactively cancel the billionaire tax because they’re afraid they can’t beat it at the ballot box yes on 40, no on 41 and 42
