This is one of the funniest versions of malicious compliance I've ever seen. The playing with the mic, the smiles to silence, the dead air, the comms check at the end. <chefs kiss>

Awkward scenes aboard Artemis II as Trump stops ranting and none of the astronauts have anything left to say to him, leading to extended dead air

“I will NOT sacrifice the Oxford comma. We've made too many compromises already; too many retreats. They assimilate the em dash and we fall back. They capture ‘not just X but y’ and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far, no further!”

This is an excellent reminder that no matter what happens with AI or data centers, we are going to need a *lot* more electricity in the future.

Data centers! The sky is falling! What's that, California? Electric vehicle charging will be bigger than data centers? 🔌💡 @yes-energy.bsky.social www.rtoinsider.com/123981-cec-a...

Some important new government policy that Native Americans might be interested in:

Trump talks about Denmark and Greenland just now: "The fact that they landed a boat there 500 years ago doesn't mean that they own the land."

Trump’s forces have kidnapped Venezuelans in my neighborhood, so it’s not a big surprise they’d kidnap Venezuelans in Venezuela.

🐘 Oh, that's nice: Postgres 19 is going to ship read-your-writes for standbys when using asynchronous replication, via a new command WAIT FOR LSN (similar to WAIT_FOR_EXECUTED_GTID_SET in MySQL). Very cool! www.postgresql.org/docs/devel/w...

OMG, partner was just googling snorkelling from Daintree and the Google's AI summary suggested snorkelling in the DAINTREE RIVER!!! For the unacquainted, the Daintree is famous for salt water crocodile watching tours where you avoid the water at all costs. Please never swim in a river in Nth QLD.

I think the European Union is a pretty good idea but every time I’m asked to accept cookies or adjust my cookie settings when I visit a new website I start to wonder whether Nigel Farage was right all along

Interested in driving renewable energy uptake? We have multiple mid+senior engineering roles open at Amber atm: mostly in product teams, but I have my eye out for a platform shaped engineer too. Located in AU and UK, typescript and serverless experience a nice-to-have www.amber.com.au/amber-careers

We’re now into the fourth week of the election campaign and Dutton still hasn’t visited one of the communities that will have a nuclear reactor under his scheme. Today he was less than 2 hours away from one community but couldn’t be bothered to show up.

You want a photo to represent how Dutton/Liberal party is going? May I present to you this. I call it "Liberal's campaign stuck under all Labor's amazing accomplishments! HAHA #AusPol #Fail #Ad cc: @danilic.bsky.social @brenthodgson.bsky.social @amyremeikis.bsky.social @cameronwilson.bsky.social

Like 98% compute/bandwidth is bare metal. The cloud is great for small projects (costs are low) and highly profitable projects (costs matter less). But it fails projects that need to scale as efficiently as possible. Moving Bluesky to bare metal reduced costs by 10-100x and saved many millions.

Is Bluesky on AWS? https://isitonaws.com/discover?name=bsky.app

We've been a @dropboxofficial.bsky.social family for 10+ years, but migrating to apple ecosystem now a serious possibility - primarily because their photo categorizing/surfacing is so much better. Dropbox has tried so many new products I don't need, but are they ignoring photos?

You are up to date.
