👋 I'm Dave, hi. I'm mostly just a guy, but I also like politics, sports, reading and arguing with people online. End occupations everywhere, whether Minneapolis or Palestine. No human being is illegal. Abolish ICE and use the money for healthcare.

🧵 Elon Musk has donated a staggering $369M to influence the 2026 elections, making him the largest individual political donor in modern US history. And yet, he continues to invoke George Soros as a shadowy force secretly manipulating elections and the world as we know it. Let’s take a closer look.

I ask again, why are national Dems letting Elon "quietly" fund these races? We have two test cases. 2024 when Dems didn't make his money an issue. And 2025 Wisconsin, where they did. Guess which time they won by double digits?

Anthropic banning “abusive or cruel behavior” toward Claude in its new usage policies is proof to me that tech companies are going to moderate violence against AI before they ever moderate violence against women and minorities

the left is winning the argument on virtually every major issue this cycle from ice, to israel, iran war & datacenters so its hilarious watching the republicans trying to pivot to more moderate positions for once. they are clearly uncomfortable. the hypocrisy is palpable

to all the new people following me, hear me out first: fuck joe biden and fuck kamala harris, and fuck gavin newsom. 9/11 jokes are funny. free palestine. also, if you don’t like trans people, then turn around and leave. block me on the way out.

Based on the way these people talk about it (doing crimes financial style), I can only assume that this happens all the time and this is just the sliver of this activity we're aware of, and she's literally married to Don Jr... Anyway, are dems still campaigning with that Hasan Piker fellow?

I'm just saying if I was in charge of the messaging apparatus of a political party and my job was to make the other side look bad I would simply say the things that make them look the worst, and I wouldn't spend all my time focusing on the guy a majority of my base agrees with. Malpractice, I know.

All prisoners should have the right to vote while in prison

Taniel@taniel.bsky.social

Arguably the biggest democracy referendum next month: Virginia is one of only three states where the state constitution says people should lose their right to vote FOR THEIR ENTIRE LIFE if they are convicted of any felony. This measure would allow anyone to vote after prison.

Reality is really jumping the shark lately

I think Greg is correct, but Americans need to be aware that Magyar’s Tisza government is aggressively going after every Fidesz official, removing them, using every lever of the state to yank them out of power. This is far more aggressive and rapid than anything proposed in the US so far.

Something big may be happening: Trump's world-historical misrule may be creating the conditions for the emergence of a coalition similar to the one that ousted Viktor Orban earlier this year: Anti-corruption, anti-authoritarian, pro-democracy. I made this case here: newrepublic.com/article/2161...

If you're a man and you've never interrogated your own masculinity I highly recommend this book as a place to start. Patriarchy hurts us, it's not a weapon we can wield that we are invincible to. It robs us of our humanity and places us at the top of a hierarchy that doesn't exist.

I think it was Friere who said that to oppressors liberation of the oppressed feels like oppression. It's not misandry to state the facts of relations between men and women and that as a result of those facts a lot of women are not comfortable with men. If that makes you feel bad, maybe you should!

Load-bearing deployment of "shifting family norms" here. Which ones!? The norm of allowing parents to be abusive and controlling? The norm of denying kids agency in their own lives? I'm so intrigued which norms have shifted that would have caused the "epidemic" 🤔

Many experts believe that estrangements are becoming an epidemic, driven by shifting family norms and changing therapy practices. on.wsj.com/4rBwger

I mean it's not surprising given that these are the same people who think kids are property and you should be allowed to be an unlimited asshole to them their entire lives. There's such an obvious answer as to why this is happening, yet we take these people seriously and deny agency to their kids.
