Sitting through a mandatory ai workshop at my job, and all it has convinced me of is that there is nothing I’d use ai for. Of course, my boss and coworkers are convinced it’s amazing, but I had to sit through 15 minutes of them collectively failing a captcha, so I’m not sure I trust their judgement

My manager and the devs I work with are talking about how we need to use claude for everything, including asking it for solutions to issues using it. I think I can actually feel my brain leaking out of my ears. Do I need to drink? Is it that I’m not drunk enough for this to make sense?

Manager wants a dev to show everyone tips to use ai when coding. He’s the only one who has a license and has been using ai. This is the same guy I’ve needed to fail every fix he sends me for several iterations while the others usually pass, but sure, ai can absolutely make you a better programmer 🙄

Even in his demo, he needed to type out more for his prompt, it took waaaaay longer than if he had just written the code himself, AND it got it wrong. It wasn’t even a hard ask, just adding an EnumMemberAttribute

Anyone have any recommendations for computer security audio books I can listen to while donating plasma? Figured if I’m going to be there for an hour, I might as well use the time to learn

The left isn’t silent, but their take isn’t “how to get sex from a woman,” it’s “how to be a person a woman wants to have sex with.” It’s not the quick fix a guy who’s googling how to get laid is looking for.

I found a link to this picture earlier, wherein a woman laments her estrangement from her adult child due to (ostensibly) her political leanings. As an estranged adult, I'd like to point out a few things wrong with it and offer some support to my fellow estranged adults out there.

When the Patriot Act was passed, libraries got requests for patrons’ borrowing history. We were prohibited from disclosing those requests. We deleted and shredded those records and stopped tracking reading history for that reason. ALSO.

Note: No executive order can force us to treat people badly, to be disrespectful of others, or to ignore the identity of other human beings. They have made the resistance about pronouns, so I'm gonna shout them from the rooftops for my loves. YOU ARE VALID and I LOVE YOU. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

The morning #HurricaneHelene hit Asheville members of our co-op sat in the dark, listening to the howling wind and crack of trees falling. When we emerged to take stock a cardboard sign on our door read “Community meeting here, Saturday at 2. Let’s talk about how we can take care of each other.” 1/?

I think this piece wildly misunderstands the reason why white conservative Christians (Evangelicals in particular) need to pretend Trump is Christlike and why they’re so hateful toward women and minorities.

Anyone need design services? I could really use the money I’m willing to drop basic logos to 25$ social media/shop banners to 15$—I can provide portfolio examples of past work. Thanks!

About a year ago, we started Playful Raven because we found out one of our cats had cancer. Today we found out that the treatments are not working and we only have a short time left with her. We just want to say thank you for all the happy years Lucy

If you ask someone today to name the builder of Hadrian's Wall, they would give you a funny look. But historical memory is odd, and right up to the 1800s we forgot who built it. Until in 1840 John Hodgson, an obscure Northumbrian clergyman, published the LONGEST footnote in history... 1/22
