A cowardly formerly GOP congressman who took NRA money and opposed assault weapons bans - until deciding not to run for reelection - is probably not the best person to blame cowardly police officers for this tragedy.

I think about that a lot.

Don't know what you're talking about but there was NO REASON to wait this long WHEN everyone knew there could be hurt, injured kids. Should have been inside with 5 mins (even THAT is too long)! I dont recall hearing any other active school shootings to take this long to have law enforcement go in.

I've seen photos of the aftermath in the classrooms. It's almost like a bomb went off. Those cops would have stormed the place at least an hour earlier, had the kids looked like their kids.

The guns in the area are all safe. That is what people who are good with 125 gun deaths a day care about.

Yeah, I’m gonna stop ya right there. SH was unfortunately the first time a psychopath mowed down innocent babies at school. These were mainly first graders. It was nearly unheard of at that time. Uvalde was unfortunately another “sound bite” after the country became numb to this.

There were way more cops there than dozens. I read that there were more like 375-400 cops there while those kids were being murdered. They were standing around outside or stopping parents from trying to go into the school to save their children. Disgusting.

I live in a rural area of Colorado and have an office in Evergreen. I heard the gunshots on September 10 and saw the kids running and Jeffco Sheriff was on scene in less than 2 minutes. Granted be a Jeffco deputy requires education and training. There is such a thing as law enforcement professional
