Those who have a problem that #Rush has a female drummer can fuck off. Anika is amazing and I canโ€™t wait to see her live in Toronto #Rush #FiftySomething #Canada ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

As far as Iโ€™m concerned, she wouldnโ€™t be there if the band didnโ€™t think she had the chops (no pun intended). If sheโ€™s good enough for Rush sheโ€™s sure as HELL good enough for me! As far as misogynist crybabies are concerned, donโ€™t you all have eyelashes to trim?

Iโ€™m not even a big fan of Rush, but if sheโ€™s good enough for Getty and Alex, sheโ€™s good enough to play in front of millions of people. She is killing it.

Iโ€™m a hobbyist drummer and I went to see Rush a couple times, just to see Neil play. Heโ€™s like going to the holy land for a drummer. Heโ€™s just so good, so Iโ€™m glad they found her because she will help pull some peoples head out of their ass when they thing a woman canโ€™t slay a kit like Neil.

The population of drummers that could possibly fill Peart's shoes is small. So she has to be one of the best drummers in the world of rock. And the answer to those who think the job is male only is no one asked for their opinion.

If Geddy and Alex chose Anika, I'm cool as hell with it. Rush was my first concert back in '77 (and 1st time tripping at a show in Frankfurt, Germany in '82) and I've seen them three times since.

Those who have a problem with female drummers should try doing what Annika does. Annika, die gesamte deutsche Schlagzeuger-Community schaut zu dir auf. Du machst einen Hammer-Job bei Rush!

After hurricane Andrew when my house was totaled, we had to drive from Broward County to Dade County to go to work. My kids were in the car. We listen to the Rush album during our 1 Hour drive each way. Learning that weโ€™re only immortal for limited time.

The woman is judged by an arena full of air drummers every night, and they clearly approve. Its been fun to hear the cheers for signature drummers fills. She and the boys are clearly having fun.

Hey, Maureen Tucker was the drummer for The Velvet Underground, and Karen Carpenter played drums on the Carpenters recordings, so the only people complaining now are uninformed misogynists.

It's hard not to assume that pretty much ALL rock drummers either respect, try to play like, aspire to play like, have covered or tried to cover, Neil Peart and Rush songs in some combination. His technical prowess is pretty legendary. She sounded like she nailed that part there to me.

I havenโ€™t seen one person state any kind of problem with her. Iโ€™ve only seen people moaning about these (seemingly imaginary) people. You think sheโ€™s great? Thatโ€™s awesome. Me too. Why canโ€™t that be enough?

I'd love to go see them. I'm a huge fan. They were the back up band at my high school for "Foot in Coldwater". They blew them away. I saw them a bunch of times after that. I just can't justify the ticket price. It's just to expensive to go to concerts. Just my opinion! Oh & fuck you ticketmaster

It seems like there should be plenty of other things to complain about, but youโ€™re probably right, people will complain about anything if they donโ€™t have to look you in the eye.
