What is he talking about. I thought the administrations plan is to cut all federal funding and have the states decide how their children will be taught. We will have fully educated children and completely uneducated children. For this administration the less educated the better.

For anyone who’s ever seen Swing Kids, you know what happens to these kids. They either fully get indoctrinated or they do opposite things in secret. Kids are naturally rebellious. More so aware and empathetic. They know what is right and wrong. But they’ll be scared into doing wrong.

Most materials are very apolitical. It's some rightwing fantasy that teaching math and reading is politically biased. The real problem is the lack of materials due to budget cuts. Teachers end up buying the materials with their own money.

You’re right. She’s just as bad, or worse than him. While in college, she successfully opposed sending condolences to Trayvon Martin’s parents. She has held several press roles in conservative government circles and defended Trump’s ‘zero-tolerance policy’ in 2019. She’s part of DOGE now.

I was taught civics and quite well actually. I score 100% on citizenship tests. I know the Dec. Of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and our Constitution. I love these ideas. I don't love the fascist, conservative interpretation and neither would the US founders.

I was gonna homeschool out of fear of this kind of shit. I’m hoping to put kid in public in the fall, but idk how long that will last- I teach my values at home, which is pretty damn socialist, against unblinking worship of people & systems, & includes dissent and advocacy as patriotic actions.
