There can be no resolution to the shutdown as long as Republicans lie and continue to give Trump the power of the purse. You can't negotiate with people who aren't good-faith actors. It's a Republican shutdown.

Looking from the outside......it seems like it's US against THEM. That never works out well in any circumstance. Ever. Police often make this mistake. Remember who you are. The United States of America. Not the Divided States of America. Remember who you really are. American.

haha, yeah, the fact that he’s willing to throw Republican representatives in blue states under the bus doesn’t mean he’s not targeting blue states. Lawlor is just collateral damage. And he doesn’t represent NYC, which is taking the brunt of the partisan attack.

Dope. The old kind, not the medium-term (smokeable) kind nor the long term (paintable) woodworking kind nor even the latter century (affirmation) kind. Boob. Maroon. Clown.

IDK why they expect any Dems to trust them on any of this. First the Congress will screw them over afterward and cut things they promised not to cut. Second the Executive will impound the funds they allow to fuck over the Dems. #RepublicanShutdown.

The REPUBLICANS are in control of ALL three branches and their Republican #PedoFuhrer is in control of the white house. Like #PedoFuhrer said "smart people don't like me" Only your #MagaCult believes your lies! And only the Dems showed up to work today and you're on tv spewing lies! 🤡 and his🎪

Wrong. Trump doesn’t see NY as anything other than blue. He didn’t win the STATE so he doesn’t give a shit about any of his own voters or GOP reps from New York. Wake up, Lawler. He couldn’t care less about you.

I wish one of these reporters would seriously challenge this BS. I would like to see a Jonathan Swan/Medina Hasan type follow up. Make them squirm and sweat. They should be forced to defend themselves every time they come on. Don't raise an eyebrow cluck softly about suspicions, fking accuse them.

Political pronouncements from Republican members of Congress like Lawler are laughably irrelevant. They've turned over whatever role they had in governing to King Trump, and I'm sure their constituents know it. They're chair-warmers with no influence anymore over how their state gets treated.

Kaitlin collins just blew away Rep Mike Lawler on CNN. He was arguing all Schumer has to do is engage in discussions to get funding restored. She asked why he, as a Republican, hadn’t got Trump to restore the $18billion infrastructure funding he stopped in NY. OMG #Trump

They'll spin themselves into pretzels to defend the orange treasonous idiot. She didn't ask anything about impacting him bcuz he's a republikkkan. She asked about them playing politics by cancelling them in blue states. They can never answer the question.

As #MikeLawler continued to limply defend his supposedly moderate record—ProPublica has found that he voted in line with MAGA Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene 81 percent of the time—his constituents refused to quiet their anger. newrepublic.com/post/194486/...
