O'DONNELL: Why not allow the world to see whatever this deal is you signed with Iran? JD VANCE: So, there is frankly some diplomatic protocols that I don't fully understand

Pretty revealing from a guy who loves to talk about how every other administration was full of “stupid people” and that they are the only ones who can do anything right The opposite is true and he knows it.

Surely the ‘diplomatic protocols’ are not so complicated that they are beyond the understanding of a grown man? The reason the ‘deal’ is not public is because Trump is ashamed of it. And given that the man has next-to-no shame threshold that tells us that this is truly appalling deal.

Perhaps the administration should not have fired so many of the federal workforce then. You know, the people with expertise in this and so much else.

Reports say Trump exploded into a profane anti-Obama tirade at the G7 Wednesday, called him a "stupid son of a bitch," then admitted his celebrated Iran deal is just a memorandum that could collapse if Tehran "misbehaves."

Omfg get us out of this timeline!! Louder, for the people in the back: Neither narrator is reliable. If the deal isn’t public, it is unenforceable. Pretending there’s a “deal” but not holding either side accountable with, you know, actual terms is worthless. #ImpeachTrump

He's simply not intelligent enough to stay with a briefing long enough to ask appropriate questions that could inform someone of average intellect about these mysterious "protocols" he doesn't understand.

Taco and every fecking republican are attempting to foreshadow (tacospeak for smelly piles of bullshiite) the MOU as a great victory, best in the history of the world, all before the truth comes out, and people begin trashing it as proof of the biggest travesty in US military/political history.

He's the vice president. How can he, one sentence apart, say, "there are some things I don't understand," followed by, "It's really simple"?

Pushback? ”You are the VP, how is it possible you don’t understand protocol? What has been reported about the deal that is untrue? Trump did not report JE, he called police to say ‘everyone knew’ JE was bad, that’s it.Trump has always claimed he knew nothing about JE crimes so how can both be true?”

Get real. Nobody tells Trump what he can & can’t talk about & he has talked about everything like it is a continuing saga & he is spinning all the plates. When all of a sudden the continuing saga goes silent, it’s like Trump‘s fiction writers are on vacation. Another ham sandwich with no ham.

So here's the thing. Vance is doing this whole big media blitz suddenly not to promote a book, but because Il Douche is dying and this man is going to be President sooner rather than later (god help us all). The book is a cover for that. He just admitted to not understanding diplomacy on TV. JFC

I didn’t think it was a good idea to publicly admit you don’t know how to do your job? Especially when it’s the second most powerful position in the land? Weird. Not serious people.

There are still people who claim to fear this man because he is "smarter than Trump." They can't point to any particularly smart thing he's done other than ingratiate himself to Peter Thiel. He's dangerous, but it isn't because of his cleverness.

The VP of the United States doesn't understand diplomacy but is trying to explain to it's people why losing to Iran was a good thing. We really are fucked.

"some diplomatic protocols that I don't fully understand" = I have no clue how diplomacy works because my entire career has been doing the bidding of wannabe plutocrats, so I've never had to negotiate anything.

Both the President and the Vice-President have now said they don’t know what’s in this agreement with Iran. WTH is going on?! Are they in the belief that it’s better to appear weak & stupid (“we have no idea what’s going on”) than to acknowledge the actual details of this terrible deal?

“I’m only the Vice President, I don’t know how these things work.” Ummm…Biden did. Both as Vice President and President. You could at least try to keep up with Sleepy Joe, Vance.

Netanyahu bombed Lebanon this morning. Looks like they have to revise the MoU to remove demand Israel stop bombing Lebanon. That's the "diplomatic protocol" he's avoiding talking about and the reason this is "deal" will fail by Monday evening, after the stock market opens and bets are all placed.

Trump's entire sales pitch is like crypto pump n dump scams: Here is this box. Don't open it. Moment you do you lose all value. You may sell the box for how high you like. Just don't open it. It has the potential to be something amazing! What's inside 90% of the time. A big hunk of crap in a box.

shouldn't the guy whose only job it is to be ready for taking over the presidency strive to educate himsel on basic diplomatic issues he doesn't understand? seems like a more appropriate use of his time than lying on tv.

He doesn't exactly understand anything. And he is literally one competent assassin away from becoming President. God help us..

Well there's an opposition ad against a Vance presidential run. "I've been VP for a year and a half, and I've been involved in the Iran talks for months. But I don't understand the diplomatic protocols. Even though it's been my whole focus for the past 4 months."

The actual protocol: "For the love of all that is evil, do not discuss details, specifics or even vague generalities about what is in this deal! Only acknowledge that it exists! Even then, maybe it doesn't!"

Think about every interview you've seen with Vance. How cocky he is. How he tries to act like he's the smartest guy in the room. Smarmy smirks and talking down. And now...he can't even handle the basics. He's an empty, pathetic moron that sold his soul to Peter Thiel.

I cannot sell my Mercedes, because I do not have one. Vance did not sell his soul, because he does not have one. He and Thiel saw themselves in each other. I think it’s a bit of a love story, to be honest.

You mean the Peter Thiel who just ran away to Argentina? May this lead to the collapse of this corrupt regime. Unfortunately our economy is likely to crumble as well.

This is maybe the worst interview, just from a substantive point of view, that JD Vance has given to date. It exposes that the things being delegated to him are totally outside of his capacity, while also showing that he's both an opportunist and weak-chinned.

A group of men get together to make a lie and then support it with more lies. And they keep repeating it while we watch with our own eyes to confirm what a lie it is and NO ONE can seem to penetrate the bullshit. What’s it going to take?

This was an easy to predict Q for which Vance could have prepared a canned answer. And Vance supposedly has skills to debate. So the Q for me is why didn’t he prepare? Does this signal an arrogance … a belief we’re stupid or unworthy of an A … something else?
