CNBC on the July jobs report: "Minus -- minus! -- 23,000 on non-farm payrolls. That would be the second worst number of the year ... revisions -- another whopper! Minus 103,000 ... average hourly earnings -- big miss!"

Trump's propagandists lie and maga eats it up, only to be revised a month or 2 later and short attention span maga has moved on to trump's next set of lies.

Our next guest is Scott Bessent who will throw a dart at a board of excuses that say these numbers are actually good, fake news, they will be better in 2 months, or it's Biden's fault.

When the revisions are bigger than the original numbers, you're not measuring the economy—you're measuring the measurement.

And why is this story so different than the one in #FauxNews? Because it’s true. Watch another statistics head lose their job. Fox news must be gutted by private equity, it’s the only fate they deserve. After the MAGA fever breaksZzz…

Yes, and those are the Trump administration's numbers. If they were to make "an error," do you suppose it would be one that would make them look better or one that would make them look worse?

This so called ‘golden age’ is more of a gilded age. The top 0.1% getting richer, and everyone else suffering. Something similar happened in late 18th century France. They cured it.

Yes the economy does do better under Democrats, FAR better. Trump just realized as he said in interviews that as stupid as average conservatives are they are easier to manipulate.

And these are numbers Trump BLS loyalists are reporting. The actual figures are, in all likelihood, much worse.

No, “that’s” predictable. ffs. 🇺🇸 shame. The education standards, due to voucher schools, have taken their toll on this nation. Remind me, have the levels of fourth and eighth graders in Mississippi advanced, or has the Massachusetts school systems, lower their standards to Mississippi’s?…ffs.

Doesn't Texas still set the curriculum through printing majority of the country's textbooks? If anything the country has fallen to their levels after they went red for 30 something years.

Undeniably correct, so… why is it that ppl im the US still seem totally unaware of that. Aboard, looking up world statistics like that and even though not directly but indirectly impacted, the picture is all sooo clear… 🤦

As an American it feels like Democratic administrations are for saving, Republican administrations are like the expensive vacations we save up for. I’ve heard my fellow countrymen describe incoming GOP administrations as “now we get to have fun”

I know this isn't the point, but having the news anchor read out lists of numbers and then have completely different numbers displayed on screen is very confusing.

he's running the country like he ran his business.... into the ground, lying about the books, systemic fraud, money laundering, and looting what he can while he left everyone else to suffer the consequences... he bankrupted CASINOS FFS 6XS

Even jackass toady Rick Santelli can't hide how bad these numbers are. And these are the made-up numbers that Trump's toadies are releasing. The actual numbers must be abominable

It must be all those dirty commies Trump keeps talking about. THEY’RE the ones who messed all these numbers up. And sleepy Joe Biden!!! If he hadn’t been sleeping on the job so much these last 18 months, none of this would’a happened…. Plus, It’s totally Obama’s fault!!! 🙄🙄🙄

According to the U.S. Department of Labor release from August 6, 2026, initial jobless claims came in at 199,000 for the week ending August 1. This did indeed mark the third consecutive week that initial claims remained below the 200,000 threshold—a streak matching levels not sustained since 1969.

How capitalism works in an economy where you can invest in the markets on your phone, and where 'work is for suckers,' as a privileged, libertarian, business heir, ex-friend of mine said. www.cnbc.com/2026/08/06/s...

I find this kind of carnival barking coming from Rick “Tea Party” Santelli to be quite ironic. The numbers, of course, speak for themselves.

If Rick Santelli is looking for an Administration that can carry the water instead of drinking it, he should push for a Democrat to win the White House in 2028.
