Tom Emmer: "Minnesota doesn't necessarily lean Democrat. In fact, if you look at the 2024 presidential heat map, it is overwhelmingly red. There is a blue dot essentially in the Twin Cities."

Their primaries are today, so I guess we can see accurate numbers tonight. If they're like Michigan's, where D numbers were literally double R's turnout, I would not throw away too much on polymarket betting Emmer to win in November.

So, Tom Emmer believe that trees and cows should vote. How are Republicans getting voter IDs for cows deer and trees? Sounds like a giant, but regular, MAGAt trump voter fraud scandal.

A slow-developing thesis in the world of politics is that votes are where the people are. Few people, few votes. A lot of people, lots of votes. Go figure. May be something to that thesis.

The color shading on the election maps should be directly proportional to the population represented in an area. Sparsely populated rural areas that happen to vote Republican should be shaded pale pink, with densely populated urban areas deep blue. It might help Tom to understand. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Having recently been in Duluth I don't think it's the Dem stronghold it used to be. Honestly, it's a place full of people who seemed to have given up on life and thus can't be counted on to vote rationally for their own good or anyone elses.

It would be interesting to see that map but with the circles being pie charts with proportional DEM / REP votes shown. I wager a lot of those red circles would have a lot of blue if the dem votes were shown.

True but discerning different shades of purple isn't necessarily as clear as just proportion red & blue. I guess just showing the overall dem vs. rep vote statewide would be very useful.

Of course it does - how dare you say that. Because no one wins the vacant land vote like the Republicans! And everyone knows that those ugly cities (shutter) are the hot bed of all sorts of radical ideas like one person, one vote!

Can’t listen to this guy, he’s a complete and utter weasley Trump sychophant. He hasn’t done one town hall in person in his district for YEARS. People have been protesting outside his local office for months on many weekends and he could really give a rip.

They just can't seem to learn that people vote, not acres of land. I would blame this on the lack of geographic education (it's not the almighty STEM, unfortunately) but Emmer is old enough to have gone to school before they decided to eliminate everything but job skills.

Land does not vote! Cities, where most Americans live, tend to be blue. The countryside where far few voters live- tend to be red. Mostly because of farm subsidies! White people love their government handouts- as long as they’re handouts on the DL!

They just keep thinking geographically & not population. It's like saying a 3 to 1 red-blue ratio when there are only 4 people has an = weight as that same ratio when there are 100 people. It's insane to think those are equitable measures of the dominance of red over blue just because the ratio is =

This kind of shit is so dumb. It's like when conservatives up here lament about Ontario being federally conservative if not for a Liberal dot on and around western Lake Ontario. Uh, yeah. That dot just happens to be Toronto, the city whose wider area is well above 10M by this point.

My red county has 20,000 people in it. There are thirty suburbs in the Twin Cities that each have more people than my entire county. Tom has a hard time with math, I guess.

Well considering cities hold most of the population, which is why the electoral college is not meritocracy, Trump is an anomaly, some that never voted R before did because it's a cult of personality, once the mask was off the Rs lost alot of support, and once the personality dies they will lose more.

Land doesn't vote, people do. 51% of Minnesota voters live in precincts carried by Kamala Harris in 2024, primarily in the Twin Cities metro area, Duluth, and Rochester. The Harris precincts only account for somewhere between 2 and 3% of Minnesota's total land area.

Dumb as a rock. Minnesota has a population of 5.8 million people. The "Twin Cities" metro area has a population of 3,693,729. 64% of the population LIVES IN THE TWIN CITIES.

Do these people simply not understand population density? They keep throwing this idea out there as if the four people in some remote county somehow outweigh the millions living in the urban county. The "red counties" don't have that many people.

In the Minnesota 2024 election, Trump received 1,519,032 votes. Harris received 1,656,979 votes. The fact that a dipshit MAGA voter can be influenced by a ‘heat map’ says more about their ignorance than it says about the State ‘lean’.

This is your reminder that Emmer represents Michelle Bachman's district (a Twin Cities metro suburb) if you're wondering where Minnesota keeps finding people like him. He should notice the 2.5MM people living in the metro area (half of the state) if he's wondering where the democrats are.
