Not "the whole church". Talarico is Christian, and studying to be ordained as. Presbyterian Minister. Warnock's the pastor of the church MLK once led. Joe Biden is a devout Catholic. For a lot of people, it's their Christian Formation that is what drives their progressive political views.

Anthea Butler traces that white supremacist ideology through Jim Crow into today's politics. The 13th Amendment abolished chattel slavery, not the ideology.
