Such speculation was fanned again after his death, when he was accorded almost a state funeral in Israel, attended by the prime minister, Yitzhak Shamir, and the president, Chaim Herzog, and buried in Jerusalem on the Mount of Olives. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019...

theguardian.comThe murky life and death of Robert Maxwell – and how it shaped his daughter GhislaineWas it murder? Suicide? Or just an accident? Almost 30 years before Jeffrey Epstein’s demise, Ghislaine Maxwell was caught up in another shocking and scandal-ridden mystery

In Jewish eschatology the Jews buried on the Mount of Olives will be the first to resurrect. IMHO Only the worst of the worst are buried there... This scandal/ criminal enterprise goes back to Bliar and before.

Mandelson obviously saw the writing on the wall re Epstein and tried to get ahead of the story. He failed. We all know what a shapeshifting slime-ball Mandelson is. A relationship with Epstein and Maxwell right on-brand. If Epstein hadn’t been exposed the relationship would still be going strong.

How do you journalists decide how "involved" someone might be? Especially in a world where people network for business/political/career reasons and will often use effusive praise as a way of getting the most advantage. It might be fake praise; it might not be. It might be something more...

As a voice sound engineer who used to work with actors, business folk, and politicians, it was common to see someone lavish love on someone else. But as soon as they left, "God he is insufferable! But keep on his good side!" You could falsely accuse through association, or miss something vital.

It is very easy to be suspicious. We all love scandal. Journalists too. There is nothing better for a journalist that to hit scandal gold. But a journalist can't afford to work like that. They musn't assume anything or they will undermine their own investigation.

Sure. That's why something like this is not enough to convict. You need to do actual investigation. Easier for the police, but if they won't, maybe journalists should try. For example by asking those of Epstein's victims who want to talk what they know.
