I’d feel extremely safe on this flight because I already know they had to work twice as hard, be twice as good and make half as many mistakes just to get into those seats. Black women make up less than 1% of professional pilots. Yeah, I’d sleep good on this flight. ✈️

Yup. I learned while in the military that the biggest problem with women was often the men. And, at risk of sounding sexist, women just pay attention to the details, (at least in my experience).

I saw a highly rare female pilot recently and about jumped out of my seat with nerd excitement! It's such a damn boys' club. Especially for Black women, you know they are so above reproach. Unfuckwithable. Powerful.

As a healthcare worker, I know for a fact my coworkers of color work the hardest. I admire what they bring to the team & they deserve more praise & definitely be paid well for being the most knowledgeable &skilled. Total respect to the two women of color pilots. I‘d be lucky to be on their flight.😊❤️

Me too. 100%. Shouldn't be like that, very much is like that. Worth seeing it clearly and acknowledging it (and that it shouldn't be like that)

I like to think this is what Charlie Kirk sees in hell. Like for all eternity he is going to be on a flight with two black female pilots. Full flight, no accommodations. Something like Southwest or Frontier, one of those airlines that hired McKenzie group to tell them passengers don’t need legs.

I dont gaf if you have 4 eyeballs and tentacles , if you have the flying time, the experience to land in rain and fog and common sense, I need you in the cockpit

OMG does reality TV star and part time head of the Department of Transportation, Sean Duffy, know about this travesty of the pure and perfect order? Prepare for the predictable MAGA backlash engineered by Fox News.

This is Charlie Kirk's eternal punishment in hell. Every day he gets up to take a flight on a plane with a non white pilot and co-pilot and trans attendants and every day the flight is perfect. Absolutely wonderful. And he has to do this over and over forever and it just eats at him.

I had surgery a few years ago. The surgeon, anesthesiologist, and three residents were all in the operating room. All were women! My doctor the surgeon is a black woman she owns the practice. I have known her for 35 years.

The ultimate irony of meritocracy: the most qualified people in the room are often the ones who had to treat the entry requirements as a suggestion for the minimum, not the ceiling.

Absolutely right that's another reason why Charlie Kirk's b******* was so vile cuz we all know it is much harder for people that are not white men to attain positions that white men attain much more easily

In one of the last United Hemispheres magazines they actually physically published, I took this pic of an article about Capt Theresa Claiborne. Gotta remember the pioneers.

Oh yeah! You’re safe with those two in the cockpit. Totally had to EARN every single moment at the yoke. The hard way and against a LOT of resistance. I’d be happy to fly with them any time.

Exactly. I tell all the haters they've got DEI wrong. When I see a black person in a position of power or highest professional position, that gives me comfort. I know how much their struggle was, and how exceptional they needed to be, to rise up against all of the adversity. ~ Proud to be Awake

💙🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛💙 Joe Cat would feel totally secure on this flight. To be honest never really considered race or gender, just figured a pilot is a pilot but I have absolutely never seen a black woman better yet two black women piloting a commercial jet!! Bravo!

YOU ARE WRONG!!!!!!!!!!! You're seeing they're black and saying they had to work twice as hard and be twice as good, so they must be twice as good. Or you're seeing their women and saying they had to work twice as hard and be twice as good. But they're black women! 2^2=4 They'd be 4X as good!

Absolutely. Anytime I see a Black person, especially a Black woman, in any position of authority, I know they had more obstacles to overcome than their peers. ✌🏼

It’s sad this is unusual … For 2 reasons; They are women, They are black, #weareallillegalimigrants #andalloutofafrica Women are like bees 🐝 without them we’d die out!

I was on a flight w/an all women crew about 20 years ago with my kids! It was so exciting! It was one of the few cross country flights I didn’t sleep on. I just kept thinking how great they were doing & how proud I was that my daughter was getting to experience this too. Of course she slept. 😂

Yep-if I had my choice I'd take a woman of color over some usually egomaniac inferior complex white dude-if a catastrophe she'll somehow get us all home-would also take any woman over a man in almost any profession, & choose women as universal world leaders over men for all of humanity going forward

Soul Pilots! How high can they fly? Forever forever forever Flying high! And I don’t mean stoned y’all so don’t puke out some lame white racist comment. These ladies deserve Respect. R-E-S-P-E-C-T. They ain’t gonna do us wrong Flying strong in the sky

Extremely rare worldwide? Yes. But not so unusual among African airlines. Ethiopian Airlines, for example, has a well-documented history of all-female flight crews, including international flights.

TWICE as hard? No, I would say these obviously OVERQUALIFIED pilots had to work way more than twice and endure sh!t by just being a women, being beautiful ( cause beautiful women can’t be smart), being of color AND being 🇺🇸..

My (male) 65 yr old boss has an issue with my repeatedly recruiting women. The best person for the job is always the successful candidate, regardless. Most of my team is female. Interviewing next month: 6 candidates, 5 of whom are women. Best experience, all the relevant qualifications.

Look, I get where the sentiment comes from and that this truism is uniquitous, but as a professional pilot I can say the airmen ceritification standards are the standards. No one is making them do better or more. No bun, but its black and white. They passed the same as the rest of us.

That theyre 1% of the population is the real problem. Lack of opportunity, education, financial flexibility are serious barriers to entry into the profession. Back in college 25 years ago i remember aviation seminars preaching more diversity. Its a shame the needle hasnt moved

Among other things, white men don’t have many teachers and other adults in their lives pushing them to be nurses or teachers or to just find a good man. I’m a white female engineer - I would not have gotten here without a dad who didn’t want his daughters “to have to depend on a man”

The barriers to women and minorities aren’t that they have to do extra training or get higher scores on tests. The barriers are put up by our society discouraging us from even trying. I hope it has gotten easier since I graduated from engineering school 40 years ago, but I fear not by much.

I was on a flight next to a guy who got off the plane when he saw a female pilot get on. Made a huge deal. Late 90s. Pissed me off so I said, “I’m sure you can find a hungover white dude on the next flight to get you to Seattle.”

Mom & I were flying in Kenya 10 years ago with an all female crew. We were so excited. They loved our excitement so much they let us take photos of them in the cockpit. I made a whole page about it in the photo album. Great flight.

Aviation standards exist so a commercial pilot is more than qualified to get you somewhere safely. Whether they're a genius or adequate is irrelevent, you're almost 100% guaranteed to be getting there unless multiple things went wrong that are most often not pilot related.

In all the times I've been on a flight, the race and sex of the pilot have never even entered my mind. Popping my ears is my main concern, and why hobbits apparently design seats now...
