Microsoft running their ‘new products’ live stream with the CEO and their viewer count is going down as the event is going on. Why? It’s all AI.

Another 2k viewers down. This is an amazing car crash. They have less viewers now than were at the countdown clock before the event.

The new hardware was revealed.. basic model with lowest specs costs £2k. The viewers fell further. Now Nvidia CEO is out but they can’t get his microphone working.

Well done to the person in charge of Surface for doing a presentation where Surface wasn’t spelled correctly.

And what is with that capitalization? (“The Most ports?”) Just so many weird intern-ass things going on with the style/typography. Real question, did Microsoft fire ALL the communications and marketing staff who would have been on top of this?

It’s the classic software engineer’s hubris of “I have a degree in CompSci and am a super-smart STEM man, so of course I don’t need anything proofread!”

I just think if there was an actual communications pro involved in the approvals process, they’d send that shit back and insist someone fix it before it sees the light of day, Copilot be damned. But that’s only if they aren’t so worn down that they haven’t already thrown up their hands.

oh yeah morale is terrible there. I wouldn't be surprised if the worker saw that output and just thought serves them right to themselves and sent it anyway

A fair amount of my workday is just removing first letter capitalization off of everything. I wish I was joking. It doesn’t matter how many times you tell models and people sentence level capitalization is the style. They Think Every Word They Write Is Important To Capitalize.

It sounds like you're trying to make a joke at the expense of me, Microsoft's most beleaguered mascot for 30 years straight. Do you want help changing your joke to be about Microsoft Bob instead?

“Ports” blending into the logo behind it just to decrease readability- I mean, if any human had looked at this slide for fifteen seconds they could have corrected so many things

I’m guessing they also laid off their graphic design department and whichever admins were curating Microsoft’s massive doorstopper of a style guide.

Maybe the keyboard was having issues? The "K" key on my work Surface Laptop is always sticking. Maybe they've over-used the 'F' key on theirs.
