lol if the conservatives want to take away my ADHD medication, I refuse to be held responsible for all the incredibly dumb things that will happen next

as a representative of Team “ADHD with severe emphasis on the H,” I know it is my duty to be the tip of the “oh, right, that’s why we medicate people with ADHD” spear

as someone on the attention deficit side of things, don’t doubt that we also can cause unheard mayhem. the right item lost in the right place in the right moment can have effects way outside of ruining my own day.

Bringing back the “being a nosy bitch who wants to find out” meme but it’s hyperfocus on Sunshine Law violations and oh boy do I know how to plead those now ☀️🥰

Like most people with the hyperactivity bit of ADHD, I also have the inattentive bit, which means I’m not paying attention at very high speeds 18 to 19 hours a day

The struggle is real, when I walk by a Tapping Pen Kid at school I quietly say "I also have a very busy brain and I try to find quiet things (demonstrating tapping my fingers against each other silently) to do that won't bother my neighbors" and sometimes they try it

I keep saying, they take away rights, healthcare, Social Security, food assistance ad infinitum, they are creating a huge population of angry people with nothing to lose

I’m one of the few who’s medication-resistant. Adderall worked on me for precisely two weeks then never worked again. Others just made me a manic version of my usual executive dysfunction. But if they think this is a good idea…the entire tech industry will literally collapse overnight.

the whole chapter is 10 pages and I can see it via my google books preview also recently approved by the fda this summer (not out yet, will be expensive) is the third image for the start of the press release

if neocons want to take away ADHD meds, they better be prepared for the billions of dollars of economic losses from unmedicated folks suffering from burnout and decision paralysis

"When yous gonna kick the habit of thems crutches?" Well I like to be productive in the day and not waste time fluttering about in circles while I try to do 1 task.

My teen, diagnosed in her tweens, agreed to medicate when highschool started several years ago. Me, diagnosed in 40s, telling her I used to go to highschool on a package of pop tarts or maybe an apple. Them- uncomprehending and appalled - affirming they don't like /want having a day off meds. ever

It’s like they don’t understand that by far the most common reason ADHD folks even get diagnosed is that we annoy other people so much. People who come in cause they’re having trouble managing things themselves mainly get lexapro or whatever.

The people who get Ritalin are the ones whose parents drag them in cause they just will not stop climbing things, or messing with things, or freaking talking. They’re not gonna like what happens if they take away our meds.
