Thank you very much for the opportunity to turn our fantasies into emotions for others. We will do our best not to let you down and to create an awesome game ^^

Great goals overall! As a dev making a commercial game, I particularly hope yall are able to follow through on "Runs on hardware people own" — the most vexing issues I've been running into are graphic driver incompatibilities and crashes. They're hard to detect and extremely difficult to diagnose.

Having to maintain running in both compat and Forward+ is a tax (I'd switch to fully compat if not for the intense shader stutter due to lack of precomp). Graphics driver issues are currently the biggest reason that I'd caution somebody considering switching to godot for their commercial studio.

I fully agree, it's incredibly frustrating that GPU driver updates tend to break Godot once in a while. We hoped switching to D3D12 by default in 4.6 would solve things, but it turns out GPU vendors also like to brick their D3D12 drivers occasionally.

It's not a Godot-specific issue though, I regularly see mentions of similar problems with Unity and Unreal games. But regressions in drivers get fixed faster when they're affecting one of the Big Two.

I honestly am very upset about the fact that you disclosed that AI PRs are accepted AFTER it happened. I worked together with many talented people in our team on a commercial game where one of our core values was to not use AI in any way or form.

This was our pride as absolutely no AI was used making the game. Or at least up to this point. I have read the updates and also blogposts but I have not seen any release patchnote that specifically states that now AI PRs are being accepted or integrated in the code.

We cannot use the engine in good faith now in its current state and have to walk back and migrate everything back into the last known version that has no AI commits included or strip out every known AI commit ourself and compile our custom version of the engine.

Not even publicly announcing this properly BEFORE you make such a drastic ethical change to the engine is very much upsetting and quite frankly feels like a backstab by the Godot Foundation. Please reconsider the stance on it. This has a significant impact on the Godot userbase.
