Not sure I have the extent of it but it sounds a lot like Trump wanted Carney to ease Canadian French language rules (and enrage Quebec) so the Ellisons could save a buck on localization
obviously he's not going to go for that because he probably doesn't want his career to be over immediately. But I guess Deals Man didn't get to the part in Sun Tzu about understanding your opponent
Might help if he had an actual ambassador with an interest in cultivating local political knowledge instead of, uh
Well, I'm not sure what you call whatever Hoekstra is doing, exactly
It’s actually amazing that you can view Trump thru the lens of “what would the dumbest person you know do” in any given situation and he almost always does it
”all of the book that isn't "make sure to pack enough lunch for everyone”
But that part of the book is written just for US carrier groups under Trump administration.
“This guy, nobody ever even heard of him. I didn’t read his little book; I’m too busy making the economy great! So great! But JD said to me, ‘Sir! Sir, there’s not even anything about the sun in there!’ And he copied the title of my book, The Art of The Deal! Total loser from a shithole country.”
Either that or he did understand and knew the Canadians could not accept. If that's the game, Trump gets to make it look like the Canadians didn't play along so he can retaliate, rather than it being him not playing along.
Does that make any sense? I don't know enough about what's going on.
