Xbox brass wants more of its biggest franchises more often: Halo, The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, etc. Here's how we'd go about utilizing Xbox's remaining resources to make it happen. https://bit.ly/4gt7NEs

Capitalism is paying the great employees who got fired to train coworkers, provide a better product because you're not short staffed and put those fuckers out of business. You're describing an anticompetitive monopoly behavior.

Yes. Please impart all of your business acumen, developed over years and years writing for near-minimum wage for a shit web publishing conglomerate, and tell us how YOU would fix a billion dollars industry that's crushing itself under its own weight. I won't defend Xbox, PS, or others, but please.

I appreciate the hideous fuck being needlessly slapped on the image so I can confirm it is from the person I thought it was from without needing to click on it to check.

Give Halo to a studio not specialized in pvp/shooters? I'm not even a big Halo guy but this is insane. Do they think devs can just do any type of game? This author is a fucking moron.

Have smaller studios make smaller scale, cheaper spinoffs. Or re-release/collection/remakes. Build talent and connections. Don't buy them, just do contracted 2nd party partnerships. Maybe one day they'll slowly grow in numbers and talents enough to become a first party studio. Why's that so hard.

The recent episode of podcast unlocked where he decided to approach the massive number of Xbox layoffs by discussing the ideal buyers for some of their studios was equally awful. Completely failed to read the room. Might be my last time listening tbh.

What in the utter fuck is this? Microsoft has promised 3,200 layoffs. The ink isn't even dry on the separation papers for the first 1,600 (while everyone else wonders if they'll be among the NEXT 1,600) and you have Ryan out here fancasting how he'd divvy up some IP between the survivors? Eat shit.

Imagine getting paid to write this after years of xbox layoffs. They've been stripping the copper wire from the walls and selling it and you think they are going to make something ever again?

How are they gonna make them, even faster than before, after laying everyone off? Unless they put out nothing but AI-generated slop, which would not surprise me from Satya & friends these days, but will tank those stale franchises even harder than they already are.
