Portland: Neighbors Welcome@portlandneighborswelcome.org

We are proud to endorse Jamey Evenstar @jameyevenstar.bsky.social, Councilor Mitch Green @mitchgreen.bsky.social, and Councilor Olivia Clark for election to Portland City Council District 4. You can see our full endorsements here: portlandneighborswelcome.org/2026-portlan...

You’re so spot on.

i'm traveling and can't sit down to write out the portland police's history of using town halls, press conferences, and leaks to campaign against elected officials but they are repeat offenders and we should call it what it is: election interference by a cartel of armed washington state residents

I am sympathetic to Silicon Valley guys ascribing human-level consciousness to AI because if I had to talk to people from Silicon Valley all day I’d probably have a real low bar for sentience too

Any sweeping systemic change you want to make in the United States has to begin with adding seats to the Supreme Court in 2029. No major reform bill will survive the current court. No civil rights law, no anti-corruption law, no wealth tax, nothing.

the conceit here is to pass off basically a Municipal Reagonomics sentiment as pragmatism. progressive pragmatism even! why i just openly identify as a democratic socialist, bc it’s important to be clear about what your program is. this shit is a tax cut for the rich and privatization program

amb@amb.fyi

Pretty disappointed to see a handful of notable Portland restaurants lend their name to the latest “Portland business chamber in sheep’s clothing” PAC. props for how breathlessly they repeat the word “progressive” in their rhetoric to justify their plan of tax cuts and more cops www.goportlandgo.org

The Oregon Legislature failed us on transit. The Oregon Legislature failed us on the Moda Center. The Oregon Legislature needs to change.

Last day taking the Green Line home from work today. Leaving on a trip tomorrow and when I get back it will service neither my office or my home. #TrimetServiceCuts

Oregon simply won't have enough money to fix our state's crumbling roads and bridges and restore statewide transit service if we continue to write blank checks for ODOT's proposed multibillion dollar megaprojects. #orpol #orleg

This mess with rip city has forced politicians at all levels of government in Oregon to expose their allegiances. Voters will remember who stood by the people and who didn’t.

Councilor Mitch Green@councilorgreen.bsky.social

Councilors Avalos, Morillo, Kanal, Koyama Lane, and sometimes Novick: you all tried to get something better for Portland. The rest of you have vested your faith in a negotiation team that is profoundly unfit for the moment.

With all these wildfires poppin up all the time, we really need to require government ID and face scan to purchase matches and lighters.

For the duration of the Blazers’ time in Portland, every transit line that has a stop in the Rose Quarter Transit center should be fully funded, and should run 24 hours a day, with electric buses.

Yeah I’m gonna need yall got get me a 7th vote. I think that vote is Jamey, give her a follow, donate, volunteer. If you want a progressive council every day till November counts and everything you do or don’t do shapes that too.

Jamey Evenstar@jameyevenstar.bsky.social

@pnwpolicyangel.bsky.social demonstrates once again why the progressives on council are the real collaborators and fiscally responsible reps Portland deserves. We need to expand the progressive table to never again allow the mayor to put his thumb on the scale. #breakthedeadlock #voteevenstar4d4

i’ve stuck my neck out to fight for ratepayer affordability and to make sure we don’t get worked over in yet another public stadium subsidy scam, and i’ve lost two endorsements over it. that’s unfortunate, but my job is to take on affordability and matters of public trust whatever the cost. and i am

This idea that councilors should gather behind a literal paywall to talk about the Moda deal with Dundon, to get lobbied out of public view potentially as a quorum, instead of a public meeting is disturbing. That style of access-based lobbying to policy development is over.

If you use Waymo driverless car services, you are aiding and abetting fascism. Waymo helps I.C.E. agents locate people to terrorize and abduct. The company willingly shares all facial recognition, license plate and GPS data with I.C.E. and other law enforcement agencies—no subpoena required.

There is no clearer case for the necessity of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 than how quickly southern states moved to eliminate Black-majority districts and dilute Black power after SCOTUS eroded Section 2. SCOTUS’s reasoning was immediately disproven by reality.

Breaking: Tennessee Republicans pass new 9-0 gerrymander after SCOTUS destruction of Voting Rights Act eliminating state’s only majority-Black district & last Democratic seat. Splits Memphis, which is 63% Black, into 3 districts to disenfranchise Black voters. Quite literally a return to Jim Crow

One of the funniest parts of this AI dystopia is that bsky is full of lewd bot accounts that are reposting some real shit about how “we’re sliding back into Jim Crow” but also like “subscribe to see me without panties”

@trimet.org it’d be great if you stopped sending big flocks of ticket checkers to profile and harass people at night. What a waste of man power and money to kick people while they’re down and make the ride worse for the rest of us in the meantime. Do better.
