MUST READ: Neil Bush, brother of one President Bush and son of another President Bush, explains why he voted for James Talarico. In part: “My vote was motivated by two things: deep concern about Ken Paxton's record and genuine admiration for the character and principles I see in James Talarico.”

And there you have it. That sentiment should be used across the nation. It describes most every political race.

There are exactly zero maga republicans who will be swayed by this. There are millions of leftists who are absolutely done with democrats desperately courting the families of fascist trash from 20-40 years ago.

Bush Sr killed more people than Hitler. He was the CIA director who ordered dozens of antidemocratic coups around the world in the 70’s. He was the point guy for Iran contra. He was responsible for 99% of Reagan’s dementia-riddled presidency and 100% of W’s derp-fueled presidency. Fuck his family

Barbara Bush, daughter of former President George W. Bush, donated $2,500 to Lone Star Rising PAC — a super PAC supporting Democrat James Talarico in the 2026 Texas U.S. Senate race.

Nice to see he’s not afraid to voice his opinion. Meanwhile former President Bush is too chicken to speak up about the ridiculous things happening in this country right now because of the Trump administration.

Isn’t he the one that bankrupted an S&L and walked away with riches while sticking the bill to the taxpayers ? That Neil Bush ? Even he thinks Paxton is too immoral to vote for ? Wow.

Really, really appreciated. Bush's daughter Barbara, it was reported today, donated to Talarico. She's long been a progressive. Bush himself donated to every Texas GOP candidate but Paxton, so he probably voted for Talarico too.

Nothing says "political realignment" quite like a Bush voting against the family brand. The legacy software is finally getting a critical patch.

Now, if the Bush family all felt that way I would feel better about it. But, they as far as I know, wouldn’t come out and say who they voted for in the presidential elections. I believe they still put party before anything else and didn’t want to admit it.

Right? I’m glad some republicans are drawing the line SOMEWHERE. But the line should be way further back if they want the corruption to stop. They need to eliminate the enablers too.

Because W is taking the same approach as HW which was to leave office and stay out of politics. Honestly, do you think it would do any good? Dick Cheney endorsed Kamala and a bunch of functionally illiterate jackasses used it to say she’s a right winger.

It’s significant when someone from a prominent political family puts principles above party loyalty. Voters deserve leaders who demonstrate integrity, accountability, and a genuine commitment to serving the public.

Paxton's impeachment acquittal was pure Trumptonian BS... to find a more corrupt judgment in any Congress, at any time in history would be tough. The guy would not even defend himself... not one word out of his mouth during proceedings. POS!

He's the one who had the S&L thing in Colorado right? Not trying to dig at him. That must be 40 years ago. Just trying to keep the brothers straight.

Day after Hinckley's assassin attempt on Reagan, John's brother, Scott, was to have dinner at the home of VP GHWB's son, Neil Bush. Bush would have been president. The psych hospital where Hinckley went after the shooting was the same as the CIA’s MK-ULTRA.

I suspect this is the tip of an iceberg of Bush-Cornyn Texas Republicans who will vote for Talarico. Paxton is so odious that he was impeached by the GOP-controlled state legislature but not removed from office.

George Bush could begin to pay back a lot of Americans for the wars he put them through, if he just votes for James Talarico... one Texan supporting another real Texan...

“But character matters more than party affiliation.” Especially true if the party in question is today’s Republican Party, which never met a Trump lie, crime or bribe that it didn’t love.

Barbara Bush, daughter of one President Bush and Granddaughter of another President Bush has donated money to Talarica!

What a beautiful post. Talarico embodies many of the principals that Republicans like to claim they stand for, but most have long since abandoned. Faith. Integrity. Regard for the law. Frugality in spending. I join Neil in praying Talarico gets the opportunity to serve Texas.

It's good he's voting for Talarico. And also, never forget that he was one of the point financial stakeholders that created the savings and loans crisis in 89/90 leading to the biggest US recession in half a century and he never faced any judicial action.

That's the sensible way to vote. Educate yourself and make the best choice for the country as a whole, not to appease your political party. Nobody should take an oath of blind loyalty to a political party.

I’m a very liberal Democrat. However I have occasionally voted for a Republican. This year and going forward I will never vote for a Republican!! Anyone who still considers themselves a Republican is dead to me. I believe in a 2 party system, Republican Party is too far gone.

It appeared at times with comments senior Barbara Bush made or hinted at re abortion, that she leaned democratic. So it should be no surprise that other Bush family members are now supporting democratic candidates.

NEIL BUSH - should not be used as a source -- Because he caused the national appraisal meltdown of 87 as a director of Silverado Savings in CO. If it weren't for his Prez dad, who saved his ass, he would have had to pay dearly in a Civil case for unethical behavior, like the other directors, $49M.

I am very proud of you, Neil, for casting your vote for the best person to represent Texas with true compassion for the people of Texas

The Bush regime needs to cause problems to weasel their way back into control. The worst vote I ever made was Bush Sr., W didn't fool me one bit, and Jeb disappeared into the hidden mafia that W created. I'll never forget W calling the Iraq war he perpetrated a mistake. Hundreds of thousands dead?

“I worry about a political culture in which loyalty to an individual takes precedence over loyalty to principle” Valid concern. Like, say, when another President kept repeating, “You’re either with us, or you’re with the terrorists.” The road by which we got here is a long one.

I applaud Neil Bush's decision to publicly declare his support for Talarico. Though, he and his historic Rapeblican bullshit can go fuck themselves to hell. Now, "W" needs to declare his support as well. His silence is DEAFENING...

It’s never okay to be afraid to cross party lines. Especially now when the GOP is no longer working for the American people.
