If still debating whether Donald Trump or Elon Musk willfully crippled Ukraine's missile defense, helping to slay innocent civilians, you are a rube. If the U.S. President had no role, then an oligarch governs national security. If not, the U.S. President serves Russia. Both answers are mortifying.
Americans are relearning the lesson we learned during the Gilded Age of the late 1890s, when robber barons ran the government and the economy for their own benefit: Oligarchy is incompatible with the common good.
I'm hopeful we'll respond with a new progressive movement.
The upward redistribution of wealth over the past 50 years has shifted $80 trillion from the bottom 90% of Americans to the top 1%.
That’s $80 trillion that would have gone into the paychecks of the working class.
The greatest trick of all is trickle-down economics.
DOJ: an emergency justifies this court moving up its hearing for a temporary restraining order to interfere now with California's vote counting.

Also DOJ: don't move up CA's motion to dismiss because there's no emergency.

This fake Christian grifter funnels off over $700,000 from just *one* of his many "charities."
And he pays no taxes--because he's a "Christian" who doesn't delve into politics.
TAX THE CHURCHES.
Just 10 people have already poured over $1 BILLION into this year’s midterm elections.
90% has gone to Republicans.
In the entire 2008 presidential cycle, the last election before Citizens United, total billionaire spending was $16 million.
We need to get Big Money out of our democracy.
The leader of the Republican Party supports murderous anti-American war criminal Vladimir Putin. Will Republican candidates be repeatedly asked if they denounce Putin?
The Republican Party's biggest donor also boosts a German Neo-Nazi party. Will Republican candidates be asked if they denounce AfD?
A letter from Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who is the ranking Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee, and a member of the Senate Finance Committee:
never too late to note that redefining language & reality are *essential* tools of the propagandist, censor, & fascist. we can laugh at the idiocy of it all but it's happening over and over again and it has a name.
It’s really incredible to see the right be jaw droppingly antisemitic but also use accusations of antisemitism as a cudgel against their opponents. Pick a lane, fellas.
The NY Times uses words like “fierce,” “steely,” “nimble” and “homegrown star of the Trump White House” to describe Karoline Leavitt, who just got a Fox News gig.
Not a single mention of her relentless lying to the American public.
Reporter Michael M. Grynbaum and his editors suck.
Here's Judge Edelman's full ruling dismissing *with prejudice* the case against Reflecting Pool defendant David Hearn because "no crime had been committed."

GOP Gov nominee Victor Marx was mentioned only once at Democratic nominee Phil Weiser’s town hall on 9NEWS. Weiser claimed Marx made a comment appearing to blame women for the domestic violence they suffer. We found the tape. Marx said it in 2014.
Johnson: "When people are promising free things to you, you must ask what the real price is. It's your freedom. It will drive costs up. It will make people more dependent upon govt, & that's the communist's ultimate goal."
(Trump literally just proposed giving people $5k if they vote Republican...)
I have a theory about how many of the world's problems are caused by people who were told they were the smartest people alive as kids, believed it, and then when they became adults and couldn't accept that maybe they weren't that special, started breaking shit if only to prove they were special
like I suspect many of you on This Website, I think a core reason why I find Eliezer Yudkowsky and his rationalist and effective altruist satellites so intensely annoying is because I had a VERY similar “being a super weird, pretentious, hyper-literate kid” experience - I just, you know, grew up.
They keep using this line and it's nonsense for many reasons, but also, if that's truly the case, there are only about a dozen "fraudsters" per state: the insurers. No one else could benefit from this particular no-claims "fraud."
So where are the prosecutions of health insurers? 🤔
Assistant AG for Fraud Colin McDonald: "Apparently 35% of people have never even used their Obamacare account for any health services. That is a statistical impossibility and it's because these are not real people seeking real care. These are fraudsters."
I’m not so sure Republicans are going to agree that a president has the authority to do all the things that Trump is doing when a Democrat is in the WH. Just a hunch.
Gosh, if only there were some kind of professional organization for White House journalists that existed to advocate for the First Amendment and defend the freedom of the press. They could organize together as a united front against Trump's censorship. That would be something.
Trump and Republicans are less popular by the day. Institutions and individuals folding to the Trump administration now are fundamentally misreading reality, not to mention failing in their moral obligations to society.
