apple TV is the only streaming service thats consistently producing television that’s really worth anything at all and its not even close

I love how they seem to be throwing so much money into actual weird ideas even though I don't know anyone who actually subscribe to apple TV 😭

Apple TV is like let's spend a lot of money making the best TV shows possible, using extremely bankable stars, and then also let's not market any of them AT ALL except maybe Ted Lasso and that only the later seasons after it became popular on its own.

every competitor is just mass producing spaghetti slop to see what sticks and focusing more on securing the rights to what already exists for streaming services to rotate around and circle jerk with

they all jack the rates at least once a year, and now Disney is putting ads in every tier great job idiots you've reinvented cable and driven everyone back to piracy

No it's not, it's just that Apple TV has been giving an insane amount of money to produce high quality shows (realistically it's probably to monopolize the streaming market at a time where no one is willing to pay for multiple services)

Dude, for me, it’s either Apple or Amazon and that’s fucked up because those are like.. tech companies dog.

apple is the only company in silicon valley still producing anything worth paying for. basically everything they make except the iPhone is a great value compared to the rest of the market which is something i never would have thought i'd be saying 10 years ago

Agreed, I have disliked (and worse) Apple since the early 1990s and not yet found anything to change my mind. I haven't had cable for about 25 years and never had a streaming service. May have to check out Apple TV.

I think that's one I've bounced off like 3-4 times now, I've heard people love it i've heard people hate it but it hasn't gripped me yet. (but I also took like 3 runs at silo before completely getting suckered by it so i may have bad taste)

And the only one you can rely on not to cancel the show after the first chapter. Netflix and Prime are parasites on art and joy

Silo, Widow's Bay, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, Severance, For All Mankind, Star City, Slow Horses, The Studio, Pluribus, and plenty more. Even if you feel some of these are not to your liking or that they declined with time, there's a whole buffet waiting for you. Not even close.

It's not enough for the asking price. What I mean is the business model isn't sustainable. There simply aren't enough shows to keep me subscribed. It might seem like a lot but I can watch everything worth watching on there in a week and then all that's left is a whole lot of bad content

They are producing a LOT of content and most of it is not very good. It's all terribly expensive. Their top content might be head and shoulders above other services but on average, Netflix is still the better entertainment value.

i thought it was going to be a fairly standard post apocalypse drama but it genuinely is one of the greatest shows i’ve watched in awhile. caught up with it just in time to live watch the last 2 episodes of season 3

was just awe struck during those last two episodes. maybe the best build up to massive reveals and twists i’ve seen in awhile

I did a complete 180 on Alexandria Riley’s performance I will say, however, that at some point they have to give us an antagonist who doesn’t have a redemption arc. Give me somebody to hate!

I rank it behind Severance and Slow Horses, but the production design is incredibly sauced and Rebecca Ferguson’s performance is absolutely stellar. I admire common’s commitment to only having one expression as well

Have they made their website usable yet? Last time I was subscribed it was buffering like crazy and lagging on every reload. Trillion dollar company by the way.

idk, Furious on hulu is the best thing i've watched lately and the one apple thing i've watched (Silo) is deeply mid. we're in a pretty schlocky era imo

i haven’t watched silo because it looks mid but i appreciate apple tv for not cancelling even their mid shows, it’s safe to get invested in an apple tv show because they almost always get renewed
