GOOD NEWS MORE SOLAR FARMS MORE FOXES

In my experience, rodents tend to eat wiring, but foxes tend to eat rodents. So it's actually probably really beneficial to have the foxes around, in terms of uptime (Also this is a perfect addition to my scifi setting where advanced aliens treat humans the way humans are treating the foxes here)

See, this is biology and technology working together. 15,000 BC: agriculture invented, cats worshiped as food storage preservers. 2,000 AD: solar panels invented, foxes worshipped as cooper cable preserves.

I think our next challenge as a species is to erase the artificial distinction between biology and technology. It's all just fancy arrangements of matter and energy that can fancily rearrange other matter and energy.

In the abstract all outcomes are better at the solar sites, but are remarked as identical. Is the difference not statiatically significative because of the small sample?

Pretty much. They say "identical" because the % difference is usually 1-2 individuals/events, which is small enough to not be considered significant. Not without decades of 1-2 individual variance consistently favoring one site.

Useful link, thanks. The abstract is very helpful: "Few differences were found between solar and reference sites, and the differences that were found were attributable to differences in habitat condition due to land uses just prior to construction of the solar facilities."

pretty much every news article i see about the installation of solar farms seems to go like this. so long as they're not installed on some massive concrete slab, they seem to encourage growth of local ecosystems within their bounds.
