Imagine a country where you have to practice active shooter defence situations each month as a child

These reporters are soulless. In an instant, these kids were changed and will grow up to be completely different than they would have been if this (preventable horror) had not happened to them. No one should be interviewing them. “What was that hug from your mom like?” Give me a fucking break.

Hearing from that child was gutting for me. Hearing from the children being attacked is brilliant! It brought home the issue and how it affects the kids being targeted. Maybe others hearing that sweet boy will be swayed to do something.

It's horrific that kids like him need to practice active shooter drills, but I think they helped him be calm in the moment. But I'm afraid for what the trauma will do to him in a day or two, and for a long time to come. I hope he gets the love and support he'll need to deal with all that.

A greater love hasn no one than to lay down their life for a friend. God bless.
