In the better timeline, we've had another muppets remake of a classic movie every five years or so, and they're all classics. People fight over which is best: Muppet Count of Monte Cristo, with Kermit as Edmond Dantes and Eddie Redmayne as Albert, or Muppet Moby Dick, with Ian McShane as Ahab.

Okay but hear me out, Kermit doing all of Dantes' random characters after a quick-change. Which are played by human actors. Which he takes off like mission impossible rubber masks.

McShane is playing it cranked to 11, by the way. He's genuinely terrifying. His second in command, Starbuck, is played by the Swedish Chef.

As much as I love this idea, we already have Treasure Island, so I'd look for less nautical classics for a bit. Maybe Frankenstein, referencing ai animation as the technology to dread.

Pedro Pascal as Sam Spade. Kermit as his inner monologue, as delivered from just off-stage. Pascal will regularly interact back with Kermit, arguing with the narration.

when Jim Henson was doing him, I could totally see that. In fact I think there were times either in sesame street or the muppet show where they did short noir skits. But I'm not sure about today.

Ok, but The Muppet Goonies. Kermit :“It’s our time down here.” And Janice as Steph. “I feel like I’m babysitting except I’m not getting paid.” To OP, you just made my week with this greatest post ever.
